DO IT DO IT wrote:I think you need 16 players. I have been a critic of Smithfield in the past but credit has to given. Obviously they smashed us today and are a very good side. But disciplined as well considering SHOC had a very good run with the umpires. In fact some decisions were just crazy bad SHOCs way. Smithfield also put on a couple of jugs for the SHOC boys which was great and we were very appreciative of. So hats of to the Smithfield people for turning things around. Impressive.

Probably the most unbiased positive post I've read on this whole forum for a very long time. Good on you mate, it was a good read after I haven't been to the place in over 18 months.

Yeah, it has the whole time, just not sure if it's correct though.

Final 5 with 9 teams (like in D6 last year. I think if there are only 8 teams then it might be a final 4

training has little to nothing to do with it..your players are just better across the board and many could play in higher grades and have previously..its that simple..its division 7..there are 9 teams only..5 of your opposing teams are C grades, wingfield is a basket case and north pines are only slightly better atm..HDFC the only genuine A grade team as a rival..if you dont win the flag its a massive choke..imo..

1st v 2nd
Smithfield 38.30-258 - Houghton Districts 3.3-21

i rest my case..incredible winning margin tbh..

Well done to the Smithfield Football Club.

On field they are a very well drilled running side.
They have class all over the ground.
There were a couple of incidents on field but the coaching staff handled it well!!!!

Off field the officials and players were quite friendly and appeard to be quite modest even after handing us a spanking!!!
Thanks for the post match beers guys!!!

Bit of a reality check for our lads!!! But im sure we have enough character to respond and move forward!!!!!

Good point Z .....Not often a side is gifted such a "soft" draw after the upheaval Smithfield experienced last season. On balance I think their confidence and expectations would be such that anything less than a flag would be disappointing to say the least.....
