Norwood did in round 1 :?

That seems ages ago, doubt if they would go close again unless everyone at Alberton fell off the team bus and broke a leg ;)

I thought South gave a good account of themselves but not a good advertisement for the SANFL with the top side smashing the second best side by 10 goals and having three times as many scoring shots as them. Really Port should've won by 15 goals.

They seriously need to re-think this AFL reserves in the SANFL thing.

The problem with this whole AFL Reserves thing was summed up on RPH before their broadcast yesterday.
When discussing the other games around Adelaide, Port v South came up.

The 'tips' were ALL quantified by the comments: "Port's superior fitness because of the amount of Professional Footballers in the team, will result in them kicking away in the 2nd half of this game."

And it proved to be ... :(

Disappointing crowd IMO.
Fantastic weather yesterday for a top of the table clash especially when Ports A grade side had the bye.
Would of though 5k as a minimum would of been acceptable

Agree, a very poor crowd..!
as someone who attends every game South play I would say that is the largest contingent of South supporters Ive seen at Alberton for many a year.!
Just completely baffled by the ignorance and arrogance of the majority of Port supporters though....unbelievable. Very poor sportsmanship I feel to rub it in to opposition supporters when your side is clearly playing in the wrong league.
Just one comment on the umpiring it was disgraceful. Joel Cross was spear tackled at the opening bounce, then when on the ground the offender had another crack at him, when he didnt even have the ball- clearly in my my mind a report, not not even a free kick. Appalling.

.
would have lucky to be 2-300 south supporters there. They were easy to spot, they were the ones that continually shouted out "cheaters". Wipe your eyes princesses.

should have recorded it and embarrassed the tossers on here, but was too busy watching great hard running footy.

If you're happy with success coming the way it is this year then you really need them

No disrespect to South Adelaide, but watching the game on TV yesterday I got the distinct impression that Port's game plan against SANFL teams is to keep things close-ish at half time, then just skip away on vastly superior fitness and skills. It was like they were toying with Souths, letting them get close, but then doing the inevitable and running away with it.

Lap it up Port fans. But the fact remains that its taken your side to be stacked with AFL listed players for you lot to start winning again. I said it yesterday and I'll say it now, without the former Magpies now being the Power reserves they'd still be struggling to make the 5 like they have in the past 10 or so years.

The Magpies won one final between 2002 and 2013. Extremely good recruiting this year.

yes excellent recruiting, masterful in fact...
but it does help a bit if you can add 15 afl listed players to your list and pay them a 100k + each... and 8 of your opposition teams cant..

Port supporters of old never wanted any handouts and infact thrived on the every one hate us back against the wall attitude.

They would be rolling in their graves to see the concessions and handouts needed to make this side competitive again.

Not necessarily, plenty are happy with an uneven playing field.
