How do you win a supposedly unwinnable election? Build a new stadium.
well to be more precise, build a new hospital. remember the libs were going to build a brand new city stadium and refurbish the hospital, rather than what labor did, refurbish the stadium and do the new hospital.
i think with the benefit of hindsight it was the way to go

worst spot for who?
Anyone who wants to get there or back. Give survival of my impending heart attack no chance I'd the ambo has to go down that part of North Tce on a Friday night at peak hour! Don't blame me, I didn't vote for it!

Whilst I agree its an option building it in the worst possible spot is stupid. I'd have a much better chance of surviving where it curently is and as the crow flies its further away from the new one! Retarded. Don't blame me, I didn't vote for it.

Yeah, because no-one lives closer to the new one than the old one.

This is probably the first time in forty years that i have not been to Alberton and you will not see me again until the real Magpies return !
So whats the consensus Doggy fans how many of you will head out to watch your team get smashed by the interloping AFL parasites ?????
No chance, not interested in a farce.
Do you support Centrals or only when our opposition suits you?
Or are you just sulking because SANFL made a decision you don't like?
I've supported centrals for the last 40 years, regardless of our opposition, regardless of win loss, regardless of being the only Central supporter at my primary school or high school. I wont stop supporting centrals but won't attend the game. So I guess, yes now the opposition and what they stand for, doesn't suit. Call it sulking if you like, I don't really give a $&@( what you think). Yes, I'm not attending due to the sanfl making a decision I don't like ( thought that was pretty obvious). I'm prone to making choices based on what I think's right, you're free to do the same. sjt League - Best 21

This is from the game thread thought i would continue it here.
Dead right SJT i am a member and support my club by spending hundreds of dollars at the club and also by attending HOME games against traditional SANFL CLUBS and not the AFL PARASITES .
Various posters say well we will wait until the middle of the season and the AFL sides will get a few injuries and then we will be competitive but should we really rely on the misfortune of any player to make it a level playing field ????
Well next year we will increase the salary cap that will fix it WRONG most clubs are broke and players are deserting to the country and amateur leagues and thats why the standard of the game has fallen away.
Well next year we will reduce the number of AFL players in teams and restrict them to under 23"s top ups.
So personally WIN LOSE OR DRAW i will not be attending AFL games in a COMPROMISED SANFL.
The two headed supporters by attending these games are legitimising the whole concept of this debacle.
So to some SANFL supporters if you still do not understand the your SANFL club is competing against MULTI MILLION DOLLAR AFL franchises there is no hope and the SANFL is doomed.
In the end it is the perogative of each individual supporter to make up his mind if he wants to support the AFL INVASION.
I will not be a party to this FARCE !!!!!
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

Umm no it isn't, I live closer to the new hospital than the old one. I made that clear before. It's all about the quickest and most convenient place for all people to get to.

One is a lot more accessible than the other. The site of the new hospital would be just about the least accessible spot in the entire CBD district. And that doesn't even take into account the cost of pollution removal and the lack of a great facility such as the Botanical Gardens that patients enjoy in their recovery atm.

I'm sorry but that makes no sense at all. The only thing I can think of is you live somewhere in the east. But if you are coming in from the west it is much more accessible, and from the north it wouldn't make a difference at all.

If I'm missing something please enlighten me
Live at Prospect mate. Takes me twice as long at peak hour to get to the new site than the old site. If there was a connector to War Memorial Drive done right or a revamp of the Morphett St bridge it would change. The new site is in the worst possible spot for Adelaide's current road set up. Ambulance drivers and Doctors agree with me.
