Ireland are at least 3 years away from a viable first class setup. Need to have a strong competition there first before they even think about test cricket.
Need to spread the game out from Dublin (roughly the size of Adelaide I think) throughout the country.

I tend to agree - why try and set up your own first class system when there is a ready made one just a short swim away.. Perhaps Ireland will look to combine their first class cricket with England by providing a few teams? (Or do they do this already?)

Sounds like that is the best you could do on a Test Match day.
What did they slug you for a ticket? Being a non ashes test a lot less than 90 quid I paid for last year for day 4 Nottingham I hope....
