I Have NEVER Known ANYONE to make Big Money or consistently Win By Backing Odds on Faves. In Fact in over my 25+ Years of punting, I've Learnt That backing odds on Faves even in All Ups is a Guarenteed Way of Going Broke Quick. I used to be a MUG Punter and do stupid things like that and was always Broke but since i've smartened up a bit things are a lot Rosier.
Mal, I'm Surprised this advice comes from a punter that Professes to Win consistently Bcos either you DONT or you Dont follow your own Advice. (in my opinion)

I tend to agree with you, Jackpot Jim. The problem is you need to invest so much money to make the bet worthwhile, so that if you ever lose, the consequences are great. A good example where this strategy can go horribly wrong is the West Coast - St Kilda game last week, where Mal jokingly put up the odds of $0.99 West Coast!

Also, it is difficult to find great value with odds on favourites when they are so short. Mal, why do you think North are such good value at $1.09? Surely this is about what their odds should be, especially given they are playing away!

they all get beaten mal all you have to do is go back to last saturday & my missindependent or further back to ajax in a 3 horse race at 1/40

ecky, north = better than bank interest & you get you money in 2 hours & will probably know by 1/4 time that you'd be in the queue

at the bank you dont get 9%, you get about 6% (ask dutchy) & you have to wait months for it

I think of all the people in thier TABs, at the races, betting
on the Internet who would have lost.
On average I suppose most gamblers who turned over $100 in
total bets today would have probably loss on average about $20 each today.
I think of how the greater % of people today lost thier $$$$$ again.
Then there are intelligent people who followed my investment portfolio

Thats 19-90% on your investment on one day
