rod_rooster, breaks my heart to read that he's been up for 5 months, with no home still. But hes just too big for our small place.

Greyhounds are getting a big wrap on here... anyone know much about Italian greyhounds; they're a smaller version. Anyone have one,or know someone who does? Fairly quiet dogs?

Sploosh...Italian greyhounds are amazingly beautiful dogs but...from what I have gleened by regularly watching the Crufts coverage because they are so small their bones are like matchsticks...especially the legs and they are very prone to breaks.

For the best dog reviews I find the Burkes Backyard site by far the best, they test each breed and speak with the respective club, the fact sheets are then held on their site.

Italian Greyhounds are fast - very fast, bear it in mind if you let him off the leash!

Dont be concerned about having a Greyhound and having a small yard, as hard as it seems to believe Greys dont need alot of excersize and cope quite well living in apartments without a yard.

Generally speaking small breeds are more active, more noisy, and more aggressive than larger breeds. I would agree with the above comment by Sojourner. A friend had a Whippet - larger than the Italian Greyhound but smaller than a Greyhound - and an 8 foot fence wouldn't stop it, and it never kept still.
