I don't think the council owns the station - I think that is the property of STA.

That's what I thought.

Really, all you need to do is arrange for a few Norwood supporters to get beaten up on the platform. Make sure KG and Cornesey get wind of it. Security will be improved overnight!

Jimmy, why doesn't Sturd rename its oval and try and pay off it's GST debt? ;)

The train station was earmarked for redevelopment by the choo-choo train people some years ago as part of a larger redevelopment of the precinct between the northern end of Elizabeth Oval and Elizabeth Way. It was to be a local govt./State govt. project. As usual it fell though. Wankers.

All of a sudden NAP oval sounds bloody brilliant.
Anyway i will never stop calling it Elizabeff oval.
The train station was done up a year or 2 ago, but it still sucks.
As i understand it the carpark lights will be on in the newer carpark leading to EO until well after the game ends, and theryre will be heavy security presence at the interchange and on Langford St.
Dont quote me on that though, just what ive heard.

Im with duncs7, to me these ovals will never change name in my eyes, you'll notice that the 2006 Fixture that has a link at the top of the page only includes the oval's traditional names, I might not be doing the sponsors justice but that's the way I will continue to write up fixtures.
I usually park inside the gates on the Northern side, but having said that I think I'll be bussing or taxiing it with mates this year to our Sat evening game.

I spoke with someone close to the club at last year's celebrations and they said that the clubs paranoid about security. I expect too much rather than too little.

Good idea. They could be ATO Oval =D>
To gain entry to ATO Oval (aka Unley), fill in from A,B & C in triplicate, deduct your spouses income divided by dependant children, also fill in Schedule B. Lodge forms & payment at entrance, & you should be able to enter ground in 6-8 weeks

If the councils own the ovals, why do the clubs get the cash?
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

I think the clubs hold the lease to the oval.

I might sell the naming rights of my house. Wonder how much I'll get for living in Harvey Norman Home? A new PC would do.

Yes, the usual arrangements is the clubs pay a lease fee to the council and then keep all the gate receipts as their income.

And if your team loses you may be entitled to a rebate due to the loss of your investment (membership fees, gate entry fees etc). Oh no :? scrap that idea - clubs that win a lot might have to pay more :butthead:
