Agree it shoul;d be a non issue. Hard to criticise Noarlunga who have recruited exceptionally well and then had a bit of luck getting some players come back and all within the rules. Entertaining to watch too. Hoping this game lives up to the hype and that conditions have settled by Saturday.

Its safe to assume the current top six will be just that. However, Whats people's thoughts on the remaining two positions heading into the last month of footy? MVP with a horror run home and CB are not much better, cove with some very winnable games could sneak back into contention. Crucial game at the pastie this week for both CB and MVP. Brighton may find it tough to confirm thier spot with Porties, shoes and MV in the coming weeks, thier game with cove in rd 20 could also see the roos sneak that 8th spot if CB faulter in the next few weeks.

Any truth that a current SFL club is looking to merge with a SAAFL club?

They could be talking of a SHOC and Edwardstown merger. I have no idea if the respective clubs have engaged in talks but at least one person out there has floated the idea. Colours would stay the same!!!

If, and I say if, it was to occur in the future then I presume they would affiliate with SAAFL and get to start in the Division SHOC are in at that time which is what occurs with mergers. Interesting how the juniors would be set up. Would they just play as Edwardstown in the MSJFL or try and create the SHOC link from U8 which could mean selling themselves as the club of choice for all Sacred Heart lads. This would cause big issues for clubs such as PHOS Camden, Plympton and Morphy Park and some issues for Brighton.

Smart play if that is the case, similar to what Unley has done with Mercedes & Semaphore Park did with St Michaels

Might be the end of Brighton Black

Where do SHOC currently play their home games? Remember playing them once 20 years ago at the school but reckon that was during school holidays.

Shoe Boy, are the rumours true that Mitton and co went on a stealth mission to Reynella oval today and came up with the laughable suggestion that it is unsafe to play on? I hear a call was placed to the SFL demanding that the game be moved to Noarlunga. Sneaky, sneaky!

The pics I have seen on FB is that the Vineyard looks shithouse but to say it's not suitable for a match is laughable. Shit, doesn't the bog slow the game down? How can it cause more injury if it's a heavy 10? Blokes getting thrown on to firm turf and sprigs getting caught up in firm ground to me causes far more injuries. **** if we have to change grounds for the condition of the ground @ amateur level if the ground is slushy mud I'll give up watching.

I can understand grounds that need to be rolled after drying out...

Sacred Heart used to be major supplier of talent to edwardstown about 10 or so years ago, names such as Adam and Hamish Hartlett, Jordan Russell and co plus some other SANFL players cut there teeth at the towns juniors. This has dropped off in recent years as other clubs claim the talent (and yes DTH that includes Brighton).

Things must be going bad for a footy mad person like Porter to resign (he didn't resign from Maccy when they were going alot worst). The division of juniors and seniors must have caused issues and my understand is they couldn't field an under 16's this year for the 1st time ever.

I'm not sure how a towns/SHOC merger would get additional junior players as kids are in under 12's by the time they start at SHC. A proud club with great history, some big decisions pending?
