Well done glenelg, too good for my Blues. The bays played superbly today and totally dominated the game. Good luck to the Double Blues againt south in 2 weeks time.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Well played by the Bays today. Answered our challenge everytime we looked like coming back. They won it in a dominant second quarter where they smashed sturt in the middle, and played well over the rest of the game. I thought Sturt wasted some early chances in the first quarter & could have been up by 5 or 6 goals & perhaps made it hard for the Bays to get back into it. Congratulations & well played.

As much as it hurts to say it...well done Bays.

They beat us by doing exactly what we've done this year - their pressure was fantastic after 1/4 time. I also have to eat my words from earlier this week when I said we'd win the game by winning it out of the middle. The Bays just seemed more disciplined and willing to work harder all day. Also helps having a star like Douglas, surely he'll be back with the Crows before too long.

For us I thought Nelson was once again fantastic. The guy ran his guts out but just didn't have enough team mates contributing as hard as he was. Sheedy and Crane also seemed to contribute across the four quarters.

Particularly disappointing to have 80% of the play in the first 20 mins of the game but not be able to put it on the scoreboard...

Hopefully with the bye next week the boys can recharge their batteries and then come out hard against South at Unley.

As for the Bays supporters make the most of this week as I don't envy the task that awaits you...

well i want to gloat but then again i don't want to take too much out of this game as it was only sturt and they were there for taking, i will gloat about my own prediction as i said as early as monday that they were due and they were playing above themselves, to those idiots who had got ahead of themselves you now have no choice but to pull your heads in at least for a week as the wheels not only fell off the bandwagon they were smashed to smithereens, let that be a lesson to you woodworking bandwagoners - by the way i have never seen so many tatty, old, ugly and dusty double blue scarves and beanies in all my life. Anyway enough of that lets talk about the game, the first 15 minutes and i will be honest things looked ominous, we were slow sturts attack on the footy and the body was fantastic so fantastic in fact that they led 3-4 to 0-0 after about 15 mins but from then on we firstly stopped their run but started our own and kicked 3-3 to 1-2 for the rest of the quarter. The second quarter was fantastic footy by the bays where we booted 7 unanswered goals before the blues got one back right on half time which gave us a 24pt lead at the long break. The third quarter started with sturt kicking the first three goals to cut the margin to 7 points before we steadied and regained the ascendancy to maintain our halftime margin at lemon time. The same scenario in the last term as in the third thanks to the umpires as sturt kicked 3 unanswered goals ALL as a result of dubious free kicks well maybe one was there, but the umps can only do so much for you as again we showed our class and kicked away to record a comfortable victory, not thanks to the magots might i say, the bubble has been burst BANG!!!!!! we along with the dogs are the form teams of the comp and next sunday will be interesting to say the least. As one of my 2yr old sons wiggles vids says DANGER, DANGER, DANGER, what tripe! it wasnt a danger game cos sturt aint that bloody good. so get back in ya boxes you arrogant fools, not all of sturt people are that way but there is loads who are :partyman: :partyman:

Bottom line from today looking at it from the point of view of the entire season, Sturt still sitting pretty in the top 3 a finals spot all but assured.

Glenelg still with a lot of work to do to make five but the best thing is our destiny is in our hands with playing Eagles, Norwood and South over the next four weeks along with the benchmark Centrals...

Bays way too good on the ground. Each time I've seen sturt pressured at the clearances, they turn it over. Our foot skills I thought were pretty ordinary today too, but again I put that down to pressure more than anything.

Well done bays, good game of footy that you clearly deserved to win.

Don't want to gloat??? I'll assume you're being sarcastic stampy... What you've just written is the biggest load of drivel I've ever read... You honestly believe you were crucified by the umpires? Obviously you didn't attend today. Maybe another Glenelg supporter can write some sensible thoughts on the game...

Gee Stampy North aren't in bad a form either....we're going along okay but I wouldn't put is the top two form teams of the comp yet - we only beat a side that as we admit is playing above themselves and like us last year after a great start is bound to lose its way for a period of time over the course of tehs eason..

judging by how you described it almost inverse game from rd 2 we jumped them early tehn, they jumped us today, in rd 2 they piled on the goals to put us out of misery, today we did that in the 2nd quarter. We came back in rd 2, they did today I suspose teh difference today is we kicked away again.

A good win though hey mate...

Got ahead of ourselves? Nah, but I think you obviously have... see we'll actually be playing finals footy... It's a shame that you had such a shocking start to the season stampy, you could have been playing finals too! As for a sore loser, obviously you didn't see what I'd written. I could have blamed the umps or Backwells fancy boots but today you simply out played us. Can't wait to read your wise words when you get pumped next week...
