Glenelg v West Adelaide
Saturday - 6:30pm, Gliderol Stadium
Radio:5RPH
Glenelg
Glenelg forward Josh Trembath will play his first league match of the year against West at Gliderol Stadium on Saturday night.
Forced to adhere to certain physical guidelines at the start of the season, Trembath has worked his way into meaningful form in the reserves, kicking nine goals in his past two outings.
‘’He’s been in fantastic form,’’ Glenelg football manager Matt Lokan said.
‘’He had some boxes he needed to tick in the pre-season. To his credit, and it shows how much the footy club means to him, he went away and did that.
‘’He’s come back and been nearly like a new player so we’re excited he’s getting the opportunity to play and we know it means a fair bit to him too.’’
Small forward Andrew Hooper will add more goalscoring power after his stint in the reserves while Billy Hayes and Tom Muir have also been included in the Tigers’ 23-man squad.
‘’Hoops needed to get some form,’’ Lokan said.
‘’It wasn’t just about kicking goals, it was about defensive efforts and what he does when he hasn’t got the footy.’’
Hooper effectively replaces Wade Hancock in attack while key defender Michael Galley has also been sent back to the reserves.

West Adelaide coach Mark Mickan has called upon experience for Saturday night’s contest against Glenelg at Gliderol Stadium.
Experienced midfielder Ryan Anderson will make his long-awaited return from a broken wrist after playing two matches in the reserves while key forward Michael Still and former Magpie Andrew Hayes have recovered from hamstring strains.
‘’It’s great to have them back at this time of year,’’ West football services manager Andrew Marks said.
‘’Ben Macreadie and Kurt Thompson are not too far away either so we are very excited to have them playing again.’’
Forward Ryan Dijksman has also been included in the 23-man squad after recovering from concussion.
Key backman Adam Hartlett will miss the next three matches after being found guilty of misconduct at the SANFL Tribunal while Richard Newell was dropped.
