Effing Magpies.

Not the garbage reserves team which has turned the SANFL into a farce - but the actual birds.

No, that's not true. I generally like the birds. They have character and the ones around here are relatively tame.

But that particular Magpie which decided to perch in the tree outside the bedroom window and have a full-on warbling session between 3 and 4 AM ...

Yeah but he'd be completely buried with all the shit that needs to be fixed up that he wouldn't have time to come and read it (until tonight maybe  )

I don't have time either but I have break from it every half hour or so otherwise I'll throw the fricking computer out the window.

Work. **** me. The serious crap that seems to be coming my way is just great.

The place gives me the shits. But that I can deal with. What I am finding hard is when I get home I cant seem to leave it a t work, it's on my mind and I keep thinking about the next day. And that is the hardest thing to deal with.

I would be interested to hear who ohers deal with this.

I also deal with this.

My job isn't hard really (I work in a supermarket), but the constant standing in one spot, the arseholes in charge, and the lack of variety in the job are starting to wear me down.

Every morning, I wake up with a feeling of dread.
Politicians kissing babies for good luck,
TV preachers sell salvation for a buck.
You don't need no golden cross to tell you wrong from right,
The world's worst murderers were those who saw the light.

It is tough to leave the office at the office. I find being proactive in trying to solve the problem/issue or approaching the people who can help resolve the issue in a calm calculated manner is the best way to fix any problem.

Get in and fix it, don't let it beat you is my advice.

( Easier said than done of course and I have an excellent relationship with my employer and senior management which makes "questioning" anything easier )

as soon as I clock off, work gets out of my head! I've always been like that, even the really sh*t jobs I've had... I'd be crazy now if I let it bother me to much

The trick to it all is to not care ;)
Seriously though, leave it at work. It will be there when you get back in the morning, no point taking it home with you also.

I have a ritual when leaving work whatever time that is, that concentrates on ensuring I forget work and changes my mind back to thinking about home, dogs, football, games, etc. I focus on a couple and my plans for them and that usually works till about 2.00am when you wake up and think what I need to do at work that day. Again I force my mind to go back to the other goals and plans to get back to sleep.
The ritual might involve certain radio stations, winding all the windows down, getting off the bus early, etc. just as a reminder to forget work.

Good days - 5pm in the car, bit of talk back, maybe try and catch the ABC news and head home.

Shit days - Crank something hard and fast* a take the long way home, might even head along the beach or stop and see a mate on the way home.
