Great news for the Double Blues and makes me feel good about the generosity of people who are helping those less fortunate.

Go U Baby Blues :D :D :D

It must have been dutchy, apparently he has alot of money to spare and loves the club.

As opposed to the conga line of red and white suckholes that appear every time Rob Gerard's name is mentioned?

Well as i said the person has done a good thing for the Sturt Football Club. As i also pointed out it is his/her money so they can do with it what they like. Jimmy has also pointed that out.

All i am saying is don't make out a wealthy benefactor out to be something they are not. I have never done so with Rob Gerad. If a supporter or supporters of North Adelaide have done that in the past it makes my comment no less relevant. Because these people happen to support the same club i do does not mean their opinions are the same as mine nor do their comments speak for me or any other North Adelaide supporter for that matter.

Well done to whoever it was, and as a Sturt supporter and lover of SANFL, thanks a lot! As somebody said earlier, it is great that the SANFL still carries so much meaning for the general public that individuals such as this guy, should be moved to make such a donation in thisday and age. Go you Blues, and long live the SANFL!

Give it to Flopsy that he at least posts what he thinks without the smiley winky thingys that so many use to backpeddle with. I for one won't be challenging the statement, the shame of being beaten down outside a Parade cafe by a beret wearing mystery man in a tweed coat just is'nt worth the grief.

Oh Dear topsy what a suprise - another anti North crack? I will be attending a lunch with Rob Gerard and Andrew Jarman on Friday and I'll make sure that a congo line is included in the festivities and with a bit of luck some of Rob's "loose change" may fall out of his pockets as he "shimmies" around the dance floor so I'll be sure to be in the prime position.

As a non Sturt supporter, I say good luck to the mystery man and to Sturt. FFS bagging him because he decides to give something to what he sees is a good cause. And as for "less fortunate", IIRC it was actually SturtPeter that made that comment and not the quote from the paper, and anyway, unless there is any poster on here than can afford and is willing to donate $50 grand to his club, then we are less fortunate.

I wouldn't mind, but no one actually knows who this guy is so no one can comment on what other 'worthy' causes he could give it too or has already given to, so get off his back.

No wonder he wants to remain anonymous, with some of the comments made on here.

Thankfully no-one has given the comment any credibility by getting upset about it.

Hooray for a North supporter not bagging someone for giving their SANFL club $50K. Well said JTC.

Ans the only possible repsonse to Drebin being in 'prime position' with Rob Gerard is *.

I can't see anywhere in this thread where someone has "bagged" the mystery benefactor. Only bagging has been of sturtpeter's over the top (surprise surprise) description.

How does it make sense? jtc states that the mystery benefactor has been bagged on this thread. That hasn't happened. sturtpeter's comments have been bagged that's all.

It's doesn't count as going to lunch with them if you're just taking their order at the Hungry Jacks drive through.

But Sturt supporters are less fortunate, when compared to Centrals, Port or Norwood.

But you are right. The money should be used for far more needy organisations, live the Salvos, Vinnies or West Adelaide...

If that's the case why wasnt Tim Ginever advertising to donate old $2 notes to the Salvos a couple of years back then?

It's his money he can use it to light up bucket bongs with if he likes. Although the plastic shit doesn't work too well for that.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
