Whats going on in the NEMJFL?

Postby Proud Dad » Thu Jul 05, 2007 1:26 pm

After an out of control U/15's game on the weekend, a club has had;

Its Coach banned for life

Its Runner banned for life

a $2000 fine

All Parents of the team involved banned from attending any games for the rest of the season.

Must have been one big blue,
before anyone asks, it didn't involve any of the CDJFL Teams.

I rekon its fantastic that the Governing body has come up with this hard stance against unruly behaviour.

It is not Nemja's fault that some clubs and the people involved with them can not behave properly.

Football clubs and there comittees need to take action against improper behaviour.
It is what it is !!!

I say congratulations to NEMJFL on tacking a stance on unrully behaviour, it should not be tolerated at all in junior football

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with whats happened, Its about time the leagues put clubs on notice to control Coaches, Officals, Players and Parents at Junior Games.

These type of people shouldn't be involved in Junior Footy.

I was more questioning how can a junior footy game get this far out of control.

The Under 12's game was a seperate issue, and maybe the wrong coach got pinged!

A coach from another club was banned for 15 weeks, with 9 suspended. Don't know the clubs involved. Wasn't ours! No Geppies reports for 5 years!

Yeah, heard about that at training. Did a bit of a ring around last night, no report of anything like the thread starter stated so that may well be the story that Proud Dad is alluding to. Long way off life bannings.

When I found out who it was, I wasn't completely surprised, as we had problems with them a couple of weeks ago as well...

All Clubs in NEMJFL received an Email about this from Rick King, penaltys are listed as I wrote them but no club name.

Yes, found out this morning, sorry for the doubt but it seemed a bit far fetched & the rate that rumours grow from a Sunday to a Thursday I thought it had just got out of hand.
Never had any problems with the club over the last 8 years but apparantly a new coach & staff this year.

I found it hard to believe when I first heard about it too. I also heard about the initial penaltys handed down, but it looks like the Exec. met with the club and re-assessed the penaltys.
The bit I find hard to explain is the Parents ban, surely not all parents were involved and as a parent, I'm not sure I would want to leave my kids at a game and then leave, what if they get hurt?

Hmmm..maybe a team from the distant North Eastern suburbs, heading towards the foothills along Grand Junction Rd., visited a club close to town for a 3pm game and had a bit of a blue!
A DEMONic game! A CATastrophic day for junior footy.

Some parents who probably had nothing to do with this may be caught in this as well. It must only be a select few that got banned, surely you couldnt ban parents that have nothing that had nothing to do with the blue?

Maybe someone with more information could clear up that point.

As for pearcy, nice mix with words. Very creative.
