LaughingKookaburra,

Is that from a reliable source or just real grapevine rumors?

I think you'll find that the move to the SFL is on - Edwardstown have played in a few different leagues - SAFA - and moved to the SAAFL after that.

Why wouldn't they move to the SFL?

Good chance of being a dominant club once again which makes it easier to pick up quality players, don't have to worry about going up and down the Divs, stability for the playing group and committee - SFL an under-rated comp and has far better crowd pulling status with the juniors playing before the seniors.

Good on them for making the move.

Are you kidding Why wouldn't they move?? 1 i don't think they would be dominant in SFL (will lose a lot of experience at the end of this year!!) 2. being dominant in SFL won't make one bit of difference- good quality recruits are attracted to Div 1/2 footy rather than SFL!! It would be a massive step backwards and cause all sorts of strife for their structure- Do Juniors go? which ones? What happens to others? What about C and D Grade??

I think it could be good short term and they definatly would be a top 3 side. But does the SFL have a guarenteed strong future??If it does go bust in the near future or clubs want to join the SAAFL from the SFL would they be welcome back?? To much to gamble on,better off joining the Hills league, lol. (Hills has a factory in edwardstown dont they, lol)

So if Edwardstown do go, will that mean the top 3 from A3 will play in A2 next year, and so on and so forth?

I would suggest that only the bottom side gets relegated and two go up in all the grades below them.

I play for Edwardstown in the A-Grade team and i haven't heard anything in regards to Edwardstown moving to the SFL. I would love to know where this information is coming from?

The pixies? Flying pigs?

I'd have thought that it would be criminal to leave such a high level of the Amateurs to go to the SFL. A bit different if you were in Division 6 and struggling long-term and were viewing the SFL as a way to rejuvenate the club.

Wouldn't have thought so in this case.
