He is probably the most improved Australian player in my era and I fully applaud him for the way he's turned every facet of his game and demeanor around but I think he's being a tad selfish by nominating himself for the short version of the game. I could rattle off 5 better prospects straight off the cuff.

#MCGsobig I walked out to inspect the pitch yesterday and I still haven't gotten there
Day 2 of quest to inspect pitch: beginning to lose hope. Cannot even see stumps. Grass stretching to the horizon. Supplies running low.
Have not eaten for 24 hrs. Corey desperate. 'We should eat Trent.' Stupid. No meat on that. #MCGsobig #SOS
Tim has lost it. Thinks he is cow. Mooing and eating grass. This is the longest he's gone without seeing his reflection. #MCGsobig
Abandoning mission. Will never reach pitch. Trying to attract help by making fire using Dan's glasses. #thankgodhewenttospecsavers #MCGsobig
Passing plane spotted our distress signal. On our way back to civilisation. Thanks for all your support. #MCGsobig

He might not even get to make the decision.
With the start of a new ODI World Cup cycle, he might find himself out of the plans and they start working on a squad that will be in place for 2019.
With a selection panel that now includes Trevor Hohns who has shown in the past he is prepared to make hard decisions re the one day game and "retire" players in their mid 30s: Taylor and Healy 1997, Steve Waugh and Mark Waugh (now a selector) in 2002. The same might happen to the likes of Clarke, Haddin and Watson in 2015/16.
i expect some renewal in the next 12 months

You would imagine this will be his last ODI game wouldn't you?

The best exhibition of ODI cricket we'll ever see.
I am still shocked at the reaction of Indian supporters after their loss.
