Old red footy's would end up almost brown and heavy when wet, old yellow footy's would just be slippery and over time when they scuffed at the points actually be better to mark on the wet than red balls.
Do the new yellow Sherrins have a super gloss/sheen on them? I think it's two fold, players don't play that often in the wet and I'd think they would head indoors to avoid training in the wet, while the footys seem "shinier" or more "waxy" than before.

footy is a winter sport
yes the skills displayed on a dry day can be very aesthetically pleasing but I love the good ol' fashion wet weather footy when its all about hard ball gets and just booting the shizen out of the ball to gain metreage.

Its a pity gloves can't be used anymore.
Is grippo a thing anymore?

My lord, I never really understood how bad life was for a Glenelg fan.

One field umpire was standing about 20m away, how he did not pay a free kick to Elliott simply astounds me. O'Shea engaged Elliott, grabbed his jumper, dragged him to the ground and Elliott was just trying to get away....it was unbelievable.
In all I think despite the low free count and plenty of "missed" free kicks the umpires umpired to the conditions. It didn't impact on the result IMO.
