I still dont think our job is the worst in the world. The club is still strong financially and the new coach would have plenty of funds to bring in whatever assistants he chooses. Sure the list isnt great but there is enough there to work with especially with the right drafting over the next couple of years. The coach gets 18 games a year in Melbourne aswell as several marquee games.
We have arguably the best if not close to best training facilities in the comp with even more money earmarked for further development out there. Can see the WADA cloud disappearing before the end of the year or early next year and the coach would probably get an initial contract of 3 years on good coin.

Their list is certainly in better shape, assuming the WADA thing is going away. Which it isnt.

Should be done by end of the year, early next at worst

Won't WADA leave your list as the worst list going around?

That is still unknown, I still believe we wont be found guilty or at the very worst cop 4-6 weeks with backdating.
Potentially only 12-14 of the original 34 still on our list next year with delistings and retirements

The Henderson drama is going to become so common in the AFL imho

With loyalty dying any reasonable/decent player who finds themselves around 25 years old and at an ordinary club with no premiership dreams in the next 3-5 years is gonna be asking for trades and jumping ship

They were slightly older but we saw it with Goddard, Dal Santo, Waite and its just gonna keep on happening

Interesting move from someone who is not only still contracted but still required. Does anyone know if he has already emptied his locker?

Not sure he was required this week. Every chance to be dropped, which probably says more about his attitude toward playing for us rather than his ability. His form has been ordinary, I reckon he shared his movements knowing he would be dropped anyway.

There was a rumour that he rocked up to training and told the club he wanted out and that he wanted to protect his body for next year so told Carlton not to pick him for rest of the year in case he picked up a injury.

He's been trying to not get injured on match day for months.
Been a massive disappointment this year, makes sense now though

The integrity of the player certainly is questioned in situations like this.

If (some will say when) Dangerfield leaves AFC, he can walk away knowing he game 100% to every training and game while at the AFC, even if he made his mind up to leave 4 months ago. I certainly wouldn’t hold a grudge if he left for Geelong, as he gave his all for the club and obviously has reasons for leaving and heading home. I'll be peaking if he left for Hawthorn though :D

Get used to more walk outs and self protection cases like this.

Players know when you get past 28 there is no loyalty, if they can get a younger or better pick you are gone. See Jed Adcock

If clubs dont show loyalty anymore it is unreasonable to expect it from the players. Just a sign of the times, got no real issues with what henderson has done. Better to be up front than just meander in the last two games.

Interesting, Henderson gets slagged by the CEO but Leppitsch can tell Adcock he's not required and that's ok (and then still pick him). Bewildering double standard!

If only he told us 10 weeks ago he was leaving! We didn't miss his half efforts today.
That said, Everitt looked a bit disinterested at times also.
Not sure we'd have beaten too many other sides today, but big matty's running goal was a highlight.
Cripps is a ripper. We missed Murphy when he went off, the game changed around that time. Bell and co tried hard, we'd be completely buggered without Simpson and Jamo down back.
Good enough today. Some encouraging signs. Not having kittens just yet though.
