Still would have played Wundke and left out Ladhams. After the bagging he got on the Roost, I hope he resonds and gets 3 or 4.
Would prefer Allan in the rucks. Always prepared to stick his body in and come out with the ball.
Motlop has go to show this week. Has had a few lazy games over recent weeks. this has surely go to be his last chance.
Coulter and McIntyre have not been on fire and we will have to be up for this against Chambers.

It would appear Sturt will be without Troy Chaplin after all as word is he travelled to Melbourne as the 'travelling emergency'.

Nathan Krakouer has also been named as an emergency. Why then, unless there is an injury cloud over a tall defender, would they not take the player who won't be getting a game here anyway? (PAMFC have the bye). No wonder SANFL clubs take issue with Port and Adelaide and some of the treatment they receive.

Anyway, Chaplin out means a hungry James McLeay comes in for him. Macca was dropped for match up reasons last week so will be keen to slot back in and perform.

Go Blues.

I only thought of this today but Sturt should have perhaps considered it earlier.
Moving tomorrow's game to the Adelaide Oval and really building it up, could have got 6-7k at Adelaide Oval tomorrow.

I am sure north would have looked at moving the prospect game earlier in the season to ao if it was available for the same reason.

This should be a great game, both teams are of similar standard at the moment. Should be one of the classic Sturt/North games that we have seen. Not a lot really hinges on it as it looks like they will likely square of in the qualifying final anyway, except maybe bragging rights for second place being on the line, but even that might not end up being the case by seasons end.
Close game to call, maybe Sturt , because it's Unley.

The weathers going to be great for footy. North haven't played at Unley for a couple of years (2004 IIRC), what condition is the ground in ATM?
Forecast, 17, high cloud, little wind, If the oval's in good nick we could be in for a great game.
North haven't strung together more than 1 bad game in a row this year, if they come to play it will be game on, if they turn up like they did against the Bays and Port, it will be Sturt by plenty, my prediction, North will be 2nd after today.

Youve answered your own question, nothing to look at then as Adelaide Oval was unavailalbe.
Plus Prospect can easily handle 6-7 k were Unley is extremely uncomfortable with anything close to 4k.
Facilities and comfort of the crowd would have been much better at Adelaide today and also given Sturt another games experience there where most of the finals are played.
North and Sturt have both moved their home games to Adelaide Oval in the last 2 years to get maximum crowds and $$$. My point is they would have actually gained most out of it today with the last 2 years games being fairly unappatising and with today's game having a good build up with 2nd v 3rd. Neither side will drop out of the 3, and neither side will get top spot so it would have been good to use the opportunity to promote the SANFL.

Anyway, its all hypothetical now, perhaps something someone in charge should look at next time an opportunity like this occurs. It could have had a similar result as the Fathers Day match that got moved in 1989, its amazing what a bit of ingenuity and promotion can do.

PS Good start to the weekend, both North's U19s and U17s won yesterday. :D

You got it easy Jimmy. Clearly the better side today.

We can't blame that performance on injuries, late changes, questionable team slections.
Can we?

Said it before, will say it again. Sturt are definitely the real deal. You guy's must be pinching yourselves this year after last year.

Dunno what has happened to North though. Didn't sound like they played with any real conviction. Too many passengers again and Sturt obviously sussed our game plan and snuffed it out in the 1st 10 minutes.

Our talls just didn't get the ball today. We did miss Jimmy Allan, no doubt, but surely we are more than a one man team. Aren't we?

Ladder position doesn't lie, Sturt are the second best team in the comp. Could we see a repeat of 2002... i have a sneaking suspicion we might.

Shove that up ya **** ANJ! He looks like a complete tool now after his early season comment..

Plenty of skill errors from both teams today I thought, including silly turnovers and overuse of the ball; and some easy misses on goal, particualarly from Sturt - a bit of a surprise considering it was 2nd V 3rd. Having said that, Sturt's 3rd quarter was top notch and the Double Blues controlled the midfield for most of the game. Nice to know we can make some mistakes and still comfortably beat north. Nelson was great in close and Crane smashed North with his pace. Brats had the wood* on Bamford and Chambo was still effective up against 3+ opponents. Well done also to Wark and McDonald. McLeay took some nice grabs at CHB, Herring at CHF, and Feast and Deluca did some good work around the ground.

Someone down at North should tell Kaesler that if he wants a cracked skull to just keep ducking his head in tackles...he was doing it all day..

Well done Double Blues!

I thought McIntyre did ok on Herring today.
As for Kaesler. At least he had a go. How many others out of the 21 can we say that about today.
Agree about Brats on Banger. Never heard a mention of him from the 1st quarter. Sturt closed down the wings, where we have been most effective. Ryswyck, coming back after missing a couple of games through injury didn't get too much either.

Centrals v Sturt is looking more and more likely

Don't write off the Eagles and North just yet either

Sturt being the only side to beat the Doggies and now beating North ... you've got to take you hat off to them and they have answered all the 'real deal' questions. Their destiny in their own hands from here!

What, you think it was only one early season comment that made him look a tool?
What about the other 599 things I could quote of his?

Sturt way too good today, Macgowan coached rings around Jarman but we knew before the game when we heard Allan (and Ladhams) as out that we were gawn.

Not all doom and gloom, the U17s, U19s and Ressies all won but in all honesty Sturt were a 12-15 goal better side today, the score flattered us because of some easy shots missed by Sturt as well us getting a heap of goals in garbage time (ie half way through the 3rd to the end of the game).

Just when you think you've seen everything at the footy we saw something today we'd never seen today (well one bloke I talked to had). Alleway took a mark on Sturts goal line between the goal and point post. Went to kick it back into play and kicked it bang into the point post. Confusion reigned but the umpire actually made the right decision in giving him another kick as the ball never came back into play, it certainly didn't deserve another North kick but that's the rules, funny as buggery and it started our run in garbage time.

Another aside, WTF has happened to the 25 metre rule? There was a heap of 7 metre penalties given today, weren't even close to 15 metres let alone 25!!!
