I find it amusing how clubs have other awards on their B & F nights such as 'Best Clubman'.

It always seems to go to a player who is an average footballer. Can a 35-possession-a-game superstar never be 'best clubman' at a footy club?

Such awards seem patronizing.

Of course they can. More often than not it goes to a player who does a lot behind the scenes that goes unnoticed to the unwashed and does not get thrust into the spotlight/media/awards cermonies like the leadership group/stars of the side do.

He's one of the first to have such a dominant season to not win his BnF but it shows you how much the coaching panel rate Fyfes support crew

I believe it was so their players could go on holidays straight away and then come back and start training earlier..

Correct. In the players EBA they must get at least 4-6 weeks away from the club. So they had to wait for the Magpies so that would've been potentially another month after the Power had finished. I guess it makes sense to do it the way the club has.
