Were any of the more northern PDCA clubs affected by the fire in any way?
Any players, junior or senior, lose their homes?

A pretty positive turn out for the PDCA SAMCA Cup under 11 try-outs on Tuesday evening, the talent pool looked quite strong, I think they might give it a shake this season.
Wasn't bad considering a coach was only appointed Friday evening and then called for a training session for the Tuesday, well done to all clubs for filtering the message through to the players/parents,

Yeah, I managed to successfully fill the last cricket-free space in my week.
I got a message telling me that they were going to withdraw from the competition if someone didn't put their hand up, I still got shit-canned for having training on a weeknight.

We get umpires supplied and the games are on Jan 4-6, then the GF is on the 8th, my son and I have to bail if we make the GF as we fly out for my daughters national comp in Brisbane that morning.
My whole annual leave will be filled with cricket, YAY.

Good on you for putting your hand up. The kids love those carnivals. Great fun.

Ha, it just gets a little monotonous by the Christmas break, I coach a women's team, an under 12's team, an association under 11's team and I'm an assistant coach for another women's district team aswell as the scorer for pretty much every game I'm at unless I'm umpiring.
Saturday afternoon's are my only free time for the week providing my daughter's netball game is an early one so we can commute straight from my son's cricket.
Sunday's are a write off, set sail by 7:45am for the day and hopefully return before 5pm after attending 2 games and a training session in the city, being a single parent has it's challenges.

Na mate, I do it so it gets done, I do get a little chuffed when they do exceptionally well and I must admit her state inclusion was a huge shock, I'm probably a bit hard on them though as I always believe there's area's that could be improved in, they can't go around hearing only positives.
