Bring out your deck chairs boys, maybe there will be folding on the field as well. You'd be favourites but cripes, you want to win against our second XI!!

cosi so far has top scored with a decent 49. Manou and cleary are steading the ship a bit. The pitch is doing plenty and plenty of swing for the fast men. But still would need about 200+ to be competative.

The great man nearly bought home the bacon for SA but in the end the total wasn't enough in the first place.
Sure, some of Tait's bowling might look hideous but as the commentators said (14 wides or not) that is his value, he's a strike bowler, he'll never be a line and length bowler and he may have some days where he goes for 70 plus but that's the risk you have to take. Despite the wides, 6-41 is still sensational figures.
Don't wan't to be too critical of Blewett given that he made a big hundred the game before and Borgas got a pretty good delivery to be removed by Bird for a duck. Even though the N.S.W. bowlers may have had the better of the early conditions for bowling, most of that period was seen off to be 1-66 in the 14th over, the batting just wasn't good enough.
Had to agree with Simon O'Donnell's comments regarding Haddin's performance after Manou was dropped in the deep by Thornley. That sort of carry on does nothing for anyone.
Well done to New South Wales.

Definitly a bowlers pitch today. Probably about 180 would have seen the boys home but shit happens, the cup goes to NSW again. Good fight back from the SA boys.

Just got back from the game. While it was disappointing, it wasn't a major let down at the end because NSW were in the box seat from the moment they were 1/40 odd. If it wasn't from Tait and Cosgrove, we wouldn't have got within cooee of them. If you consider that Tait only conceded 27 runs from the bat from his ten overs, combine that with 6 wickets, that's a remarkable job. It is frustrating to see so many wides, but I'll happily accept that if he takes wickets like that consistently. He has that element of surprise about him - a spray one ball, deadly accurate the next.

ORDB, what exactly did Haddin do when Thornley dropped the catch? All I know is that after Thornely threw the ball back in, he picked up the grass he dug out on the attempt, was about to plant it in the divot, but then threw the grass away. Someone yelled out from the crowd "Les won't be happy with you!" Speaking of the crowd, was anyone near the fight near the scoreboard? There were a few involved, it almost got out of hand, until a lone security gurard stopped it.

By the way, congratulations go to the Blues for their win. They deserved it after our weak batting performance.

Spelly, I was near the fight, got a bit out of hand there. A couple guys will have sore heads tonight, that's for sure.

Devastating result. 154 was never enough but Tait was incredible. Those 3 wickets in that one over brought the game to life. Unfortunately Boof was caught in a catch 22 situation. Bowl Tait out and try for a wicket or keep him until a few more wickets fall and he can have a go at the tail.

Our best chance to win the final considering a full strength NSW side would include Lee, McGrath, Katich, Bracken, Michael Clarke and Stuart Clark.

I know there is a smiley there but that is a poor post. I thought Lehmann captained the side brilliantly on Sunday and could not have done any more to bring home the chocolates for the Redbacks who were once again forced to defend a 5hite score after the early start.

Tait almost single handedly won the cup for the Redbacks but was REB worried? Not a chance as we had none other than Stewie Magill coming in at Jack. You may remember Stewie Magill from such cup final epics as last year's shield final where he held off the strong Bulls attack to bring home the Moo Moo for the mighty Blues.

In other news, carpenters have been summoned to the SCG to build yet another trophy cabinet... :P

REB

ps - what a game of cricket. How much was Brad Haddin stressing out after he ran himself out and had to watch the tailenders bring home the points. r

A clear and true insight into your distinct lack of intelligence and understanding of the game of cricket.

What gives you the hide to criticise Boof in this way, please list your response in dot points,I will then tear each and every one of them apart and leave you with no credibility.

Well done by Taity to give us a chance.Well done by Cossi to get us off to a start.Sadly, out middle order once again failed to deliver the goods. The youth have been given two years now,Ferguson,Borgas,Harris, and they now need to start to deliver when the heat is on.ie: The last shield game against QLD.

Until these guys can be consistent contributors,we will suffer more pain.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.
