Believe it was mentioned at the SAAFL meeting on Monday night and it received an overwhelming response in the positive.

Obviously alot of water to go under the bridge before this concept would come into vogue but wonder what it means for Associations such as the NEMJFA etc

who have worked tirelessly for years to produce a good competition.

Also would it mean some Junior Footy would go back to being played on a Saturday morning as a lead up to Senior games

Interesting times ahead one thinks

SANFL doing it instead

Terrific that the SANFL are taking over junior footy. Just leave the country football alone. It appears that the Southern Football League will be effected badly. Leave the country areas as they are including the SFL. Finally junior footy under the one banner with the SANFL in the best position to govern all 3 metro junior leagues.

With 7 or 9 SAAFL divisions , how many of these sides have junior grades?

The anomalies are the Clubs without Junior sides in the SAAFL (aside from the Old Scholar/University Clubs).

Off the top of my head North Pines and Houghton are the only clubs persisting with no juniors?

Do Smithfield have juniors again?

The points system has effectively created a time bomb for the clubs who are unfortunate to have no junior sides now.

5-6 years time when there current squads retire off, unless they recruit people who have not played, they will not be able to field A-Grade teams.

Key is to attract a steady flow of recruits and keeping them at the club for multiple seasons....

Good result for these two junior leagues to come in under the SANFL. Also good is that the Southern League country zone is going alone. The country areas don't need the SANFL involvement and they are run differently and efficiently. When the North East Metro finally come in under the SANFL it will put all of metro Adelaide juniors under the one banner which can only be a good thing. If the SANFL just worry about the metro area and leave the country areas alone then all will work fine.

Question is when will the NEMJFA come under this banner, not that it will have any affect on me after this season. Believe it is a great move for Junior footy, all the Junior Leagues have worked very hard for many many seasons and deserve a huge pat on the back for the job they have done

Well Round 1 is done and dusted, but I can't see scores available although I know ours are in. I wanna see how many other teams have been screwed by the grading they have been given.

Too high. U16s. Got smashed by smosh who i think will mid table at best. If we stay in that div we might as well pack it up. They based ours on beating North Haven twice(who are not flash) and Portland who have half a dozen at Eagles. If they did any homework they would have realised Woody South and Portland have had us covered the last few years.
