Im all for trialling rules in the NAB, but that isnt a trial anymore, it is just a pre-season thing. Why?

Pretty sure NAB give money/footballs to the players grass roots club for any super goal so it's become a bit of a way for clubs to get something

Correct- $500 worth of footy's directly to the players junior club.

All part of bringing footy back to the grass roots, along with playing at suburban grounds.

Interesting Hawthorn, Collingwood and Sydney are leading the argument against Essendon paying 7 months of Ryder and Monfires ( and the other suspended players ) wages.

In essence, Port could "keep" up to $600,000 from this years Total Player Payments ( TPP ) and use it towards next years. This could, given the right circumstances allow Port to turn a wage of say Aaron Young on $200,000 per year into a 3 year deal with $400,000 for a recruit.

Interesting that they had a say in our top up player situation and now want a say in this.

I'd say "Tell 'em to get stuffed".

So Port want 600k of salary cap concessions because two of their players were suspended drug cheats...riiiiight. I'm not surprised the other clubs are not supporting it

Yes, we've got a couple of 10 year contracts we are drawing up. Now I'm just being silly, who'd do that?

Couple of million in '03, nearly insolvent in '11, **** knows how much through the 90's when the SCG had nobody there, COLA, I think you're throwing stones out of your glass house with the handout gag. ;)

Buddy did more in his first year at Sydney, than Ryder will do by the time buddy's contract is up...

No problem with us paying all banned players salaries but have a big problem with clubs getting it removed from the salary cap. Especially Port who coerced Ryder into breaking a contract with us.

For 20 years while you were "South Melbourne" in Sydney tarps might have been a great idea....really great idea.

Maybe, maybe not, maybe he'll be a burden too big for you to carry, maybe he'll consign you to paying $1m per year to a bloke sitting on the beach in Fiji. I guess time will tell, 10 years is a hell of a long time you know.
