I agree saintal. It's hard to find positives when you get beaten by near on ten goals. I also watched the game on ABC and thought that Glenelg were not a ten goal better side today. Having said that they worked harder than the Panthers and certainly deserved a good win. I was disappointed that South dropped their bundle in the last quarter after showing some real fight to come back in the third. Well done Jaques and also Mankara who certainly injected a bit of excitement.

BTW, Stuart Dew's not too bad in the commentary box...

magnificent in the end, saw the last half live and South were playing with some spirit in particular Jacques....but Bays too good in the end, SLSP had some party tricks in the last 1/4, including some fun with the SNout Hill

Judging by teh text messages from rushby we played ugly footy but turned it on in teh end.

not upset at this as it is hard to stay up* for teh whole season we need to be switched on for teh next two weeks especially in two weeks time agaisnt Port at the Bay...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Post match interview, McConnell gave a good mention about his "player sponsors".
Said they would buy him a few beers after the game.

Not sour grapes at all; you are spot on the money. Glenelg's win against Norwood was described as "ugly" by most of the Bays fans. Well if that was ugly, then today's effort was a two-bag job. Never was a 10-goal win so painful to watch.

We just could not go on with in the last quarter. Ugly stuff
Jacques and Munkara were standouts. Showing the level of desire needed by to succeed.
Pity it some others didn't catch on.

But "we will be back"

well for 2 quarters we dominated, for the other 2 quarters it was pretty much even....

we were absolutely appalling today and we certainly wont be playing finals footy on the utter crap that was displayed out there.

we were very lucky that South decided to go missing in the 2nd and last 1/4's otherwise the result could have very easily gone the other way..........

the margin certainly did flatter us given the way the game was played, but once the south players started to drop their heads it was good to see that we buried them

the pleasing thing for south was they had a crack for the majority of the match, the pleasing thing for glenelg is they played poorly in patches & brilliantly in other parts of the game, the wind was a deciding factor as out of the 34 goals kicked today 24 of them (16 to eight) were kicked to the southern end, so while i was dissapointed with some parts of our game, i think that is good as we know there is improvement in the team
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

At least South showed a lot more heart, aptitutde and desire today at least until the 10th minute of last quarter. Well done Glenelg it looks like it could your year this year. Very disappointing to get blown away especially by the quality of a side like Glenelg. Someone should have run through McConnell. He is top player a class above most other players on the ground. Without him I think South probably would have won.
Next year for us now. Need to start planning now. Probably time to wield the axe. The likes of McGrath,Bennett, Wright, Prendergast, Smith,Handby to go. Need a key forward some more high quality midfielders and key defender. Unless they are seriously injured above players won't take south to the next premiership. Having said this I don't know who would. Try and get Kenna back even if just plays on weekends though. He is worth three of above.

Surely Prendergast , with his players association and Clarke with his business @ Glenelg are sure to stay at the very least.

Yeah, given the apparent 'truth' behind his departure, i cant see Kenna back with us next year. Very few players would return to a club they are contemplating suing :(

As for Prenders, i'm probably in the minority here but i'd certainly hang on to him. maybe not for the same salary though 8) Has certainly had a few bad days, but was really starting to show his worth through the middle of the season. I guess we expected him to come over here and be a mobile defender dominating games. Obviously hasnt happened but he's won his position more often than not.

I would have dropped clarkey before saturday's game. He turned in a good one though.

Question for bays fans: where do you see John Hinge at the moment? I dont want to get stuck into the kid, but from the few games i've seen of the bays he hasnt done much at all. I guess being on the crows list elevates expectations. will he hold his spot on their list?

good question, he has been consistent, but didnt play that well on the weekend, he has taken another step this year though IMO...against teh Dogs I thought he was in our top 2-3...with mumbles the coach I dare say he will get another year to show his worth, the negative is he is just a half back flanker...plenty of those around
