Best player ive seen is Ben Halliday. He dominated in BLG league and could be playing D1-2 asily but is loyal to his junior club EFC.
Ask any Kenilworth Player from 2005 and they would never have seen a performance like his in the finals ever.

In saying that i havent seen really any footy outside D4-6

Have to agree there Duncs. Halliday was the best ruckmen Gepps have ever had. Interesting thing Trimboli king hit him one day from behind loosening a couple of teeth seemed out of character for Trimboli who as others have said is a v good player.

Wouldn't of been the first or last player Trimmers king hit, I rate him and Baldaseri (spelling?) from port districts as the biggest snippers running round, umpire love em but!!!!

Hey blue boy what bout Kerwood, he won raggies b&f playing 7 games!!!!!! Heard is back in town for a while but will be going back to perth.

Come on boys how can u rate players in div 6 or 5 or whatever, its like comparing players from country laegues (where there are only bout 12 good players in a team, the rest made up from skinny juniors or have beens that never were!!!)

Mark Jones from Broadies has been the biggest match winner in the last 10 years in A1 but has he ever won Broadies B&F????

From what I've seen 20 odd years SAAFL from A4 to A1. mostly A1 and A2. And if we put some parameters on it like playing more than 2 years. Mark Jones in the 2 games per year for 8 years absolute gun. Trimboli maybe 6 times plus state games exceptional. Adrian Pope most weeks for about 9 years as good as anyone and sometimes better. The funny things are never saw Evan Arnold play a good game. Always beaten. Saw Garth Wright in his prime and Litster or Arnold would not hold a candle to him. A bloke at Goodies name escapes me plays CHB possibly Spencer as good as anyone I've seen. What about blokes like Brad Ryan the only bloke to make all australian Amatuer league as a player from A3. Kev Spirou 2 clubs but when playing sides set forward lines around him. Doggy Muir not the cleanest but the most intense uni player ever. Duane Massey the best A1 full forward I've seen. Loren Franze CHF SHOC unstoppable 12 years ago. Abloke at West Croyden, Rory I think his name was as good an onballer as anyone. Warren Ainscough could have been anything as a youngster but an accident cut him short in his prime.

yeah good run down bandar. There was a bloke that played for Goodies a few years back Brad ??? played at sturt. Left footer i think, great player. Loren Franz is only about 28 Bandar, but yeah i agree late 90's he was unstoppable with Kym Welsby up forward. Former Scotch coach Pat Lambert was also one of the best I've seen

i agree with magpiespower . the question is best SAAFL player seen . not who is the best player to have played in the SAAFL.

lee goodwin was an awesome player on the field.

Pieter Spencer was also a great player for athelstone.

Jamie Sibbick also was well rated until his broken ankle.......

beleive it or not some gun players play for the love of a club in a lower grade and not for money in the higher grades.

LOL @ OrdB

Best I've seen were Josh Nitchitowsky (sp??), Carey Graetz and Damien Newham ... Played B-Grade with a very young Brian Harris of Western Bulldogs fame at Gaza one day ... It bucketed all day and was a sludgefest (which we lost quite convincingly) but you would have thought it was a summers day the way the lad was grabbing everything that came near him .. Had the balls to stand up to a few opponents aswell, was fantastic to watch him that day!!

Thought you'd see that Constance. Actually he's not that bad but if you get him going, he doesn't mind reminiscing.
Bit of a Hills connection with the three names you mentioned as well in the sense that the first two played some football at Mount Barker and I think Newham still plays for Strathalbyn. Played cricket against Newham the other week (know he played cricket for PHOS but I'm not sure who he played footy for) and was amazed to be told that he is 33!!! Don't know if he dyes his hair or something but I would have only guessed about 26!

Newham played footy at SMOSH then went to PHOS and now at Strath. As for cricket I remember playing Premier League for Woody Rechabites and winning an association medal then he may of played a handful of games for Glenelg ANA (where most the phos boys play) before going up to Strath. Also has he started to shave yet?
