Akermanis? Pfft. Throw enough darts one will hit the board, but he's off the mark. Not by much, sadly, but off the mark.

Literally the only hope that I have for the season ahead, is that Burgess is keeping us at the same pace, whilst other sides burn out towards the end of the season. But what is the point of employing this fitness strategy (if it is indeed what Burgo is gunning for), when we are more than likely gone from finals contention before the bye rounds?
Are you not concerned by the types of injuries we are getting?
Hartlett, Wingard, Gray have all been withdrawn with Hamstring complaints thus far, and its round 6.
Conspiracy, or just rotten luck?

Agree, need to see how they go long term, maybe the program was to peak later in the year, but early signs certainly flag this could be a cause for concern.
It leaves unexplained how so many good players, in the prime of their careers, are so much off their game all at the same time.

Clearly, in '14, when 11-1 we peaked too early. I think last year we started very sluggishly, never looked like moving early. Hopefully this year is a blend of the two.
