Sure Tait had a few wides against him, so what. 6/41 I'll take those figures any day, had he been in South Africa and bowled liked that and got those figures, Australia would have won. SA would have lost by heaps, but we didn't.

That was the first match this summer that excited me.

Watched it at a pub surrounded by a million cockraoches and got a little excited when it came down to one wicket and six runs.

Boy did I cop it.

It was dissapointing, I am sick of saying that we got close and this and that. The fact is we lost and as a team didn't perform and haven't for many many years. I'm sick of excuses however valid they may be.

To me Boof while did what he could as Captain I wouldn't say his captaincy got us back in the game or anything, a solid game as Captain but like they said on the radio at times just didn't have the field right.

Fair dinkum another one having a crack at Boof. His gun bowler got 14 wides.pretty hard to set a field for a bowler who bowls one on the stumps one ball and one to fourth slip the next. I reckon his fields weren't that bad. He attacked at the right time and his bowling changes were spot on. If you are in a vengefull mood and seeking retribution, I suggest you start with the batsmen because 150 against a NSW attack minus McGrath, Lee, Clark and Bracken was a joke. They can't even blame the early start factor as that storm had been well and truly weathered at 1/66.

I wasn't having a real go at Boof, I just wouldn't have said he game had a perfect game as Captain, bowling changes were fine although I thought he gave himself one to many overs at one stage, he gave a way that no ball for having his field wrong which could happen to anybody, but most importantly just thought at times he should have attacked a bit more on a couple of occasions. I just didn't think it was a A grade performance but fairly solid.

As for the batsman I have said all I can say, the last two Pura Cup performance and the one yesterday were nothing short of pathetic.

I reckon Lehmann's captaincy was spot on..OK, except for the no ball. He had to bowl himself as Cullen was subbed out prematurely, again because the batsmen didn't get anywhere near enough runs. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Yeah fair enough. I think he perhaps could have tried Cosgrove at some stage just becuase we had to bowl them out and Lehmann didnb't really look that dangerous. Its a shame Cullen couldn't have bowled but I guess at the time they needed more runs.

There should be a rule that says you have had to play a certain number of games that summer for you state to be able play for them at the end of the season.

Its like when Port magpies load up there team with port power players come finals time

GOD THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!!

i might have to post that in "things that give me the 5hits" thread

What is unfair on the Redbacks?? It is first class cricket..you pick your best XI. NSW's best players are in South Africa in any event so not too sure what you are on about...what do you know we have something in common!

You have got to be kidding mate, who, who the, grrr, who are the Power players used by the Magpies to "load up the team?".

Peter Burgoyne,Shaun Burgoyne,Brett Ebert,Warren Tredrea,Darryl Wakelin,Michael Wilson and Gavin Wanganeen are the only Magpies based players in the Power squad.Who of them played finals for the Magpies last year?Genius.

Anyone who bags Boof should be shot. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have even made the final. Whoever decided to take Cullen out of the game should be shot. We were a bowler short, and it was too late in the innings to put Skewes in to bat.

Damn it.
That was like waiting up during the Ashes just to see Kaspa get out (?) caught behind.

I would rather lose by 10 wickets :(
