Eastern Park will struggle to play A1 or A2 while they're stuck at Dwight Reserve, probably still their worst problem...

Couldn't agree more.

Surely even the demons people have to admit the changerooms are inadequate for visiting teams.

I mean, a divider with a regular opening door to the bar? We got 13 chairs in it when we were there.

I'd heard a story about six years ago that council were looking at using the oval for subdivision for residential purposes.

Would be interesting to know what came of that possibility...

I'd heard something a couple of years ago about a possible merge with Elizabeth to play at Argana Park, but I'm assuming nothing came of it...

EPFC had the option to go to CD Rugby on Uley Road about 5 years ago. The oval was a lot bigger and better and the facilities were really good but EPFC members voted NO because of the location. EPFC have a prime location at the moment but just need to upgrade.
Upgrading though is very difficult as the Playford council will not help at all as we are not in "The Sporting Hub Plan". The plan for the two ovals was to put aged care facilities on them and no doubt that will happen in the future. The extension that was added a few yeras ago was built by members, the shower renovations, the paving around the club, coaches boxes, re painting, all electrical work even the floodlights have all been done by members, I dont now of any other club that has to do this. Opposition clubs complain about the state of our oval, fair enough to but you only have to play on it once a year......we have to train on it and play every fortnight on it. We have complained every year about it with OH&S and drainage issues and even though the council have at least fixed the drainage problem they top soiled the oval with "sand".........dumb.
We were offered to amalgimate with the Elizabeth FC a few years ago but because of Playford Regulations that "there must be a sporting club in the Playford area with the word Elizabeth in it" we would lose our identity, we were top of Div3 then and i think Elizabeth were Div6.
The oval is tired, we have 4 senior footy sides (including U18's) 12 junior sides (U6 - U16 about 300 kids) and 2 cricket sides, it just doesn't get a break.

got to go my fingers are killing me, good luck to all sides this weekend except Flinders Park of course. :D

Surely the Uley Rd move would've been a wise one? Not sure what makes the current spot on Yorketown Rd such a 'prime location'?

And have they ever considered making the two ovals into one and playing one decent-sized oval across the two current ones? I know the clubrooms would nearly be directly behind a set of goals but it doesn't seem to matter for Portland, Plympton etc.

good call Pag but we are in between Elizabeth Centre and Craigmore Shopping Centre, down the road from the pub and on a main bus route.........exposure, Uley road not busy at all.
Good idea about the one oval thing and i think we have talked about it but we dont have any members with excavation equipment, cause the council wont do it thats for sure. I think we looked at using the soccer ground across the road (never gets used) but we would need a foot bridge for all the kids to use, to dangerous to cross that busy road (knocked on head by council i think).
The new Mayor might help us though, he was invited to a function and some members had a chat to him. Local paper last week said he was unaware of Centrals paying an acorn for rent and also recieving $50,000 a year from them. I think Centrals are doing well in "cash flow in" so i dont now what will happen there.

share the wealth i say. :D

That road's immensely busy, what you talkin' about?

There are buses there - they just don't stop directly outside the oval.

And you're directly down the road from a growing area, high school and the Munno Para Shopping Centre, as well as still being just around the corner from the Craigmore shops.

Strange reasoning. The Uley road move would have been good I woulda thought.

Dwight Reserve, because of drainage, parking and its size has been horrible since it was put there. It's a credit to you guys, much as it hurts to say, that you've managed to climb so high in the footy world from that location considering the rooms and the oval.

However, the situation you have with the council doesn't help you.

Athelstone V Salisbury West marred with fights i hear? Is Creek back from suspension yet?

Yeah we just got smashed.

Not sure how SPOC's managed to lose so many games, they seemed a decent side both times we played them. Running side.

WHat happened to raggies?

we were seven goals down 20 minutes into the game.

got abck to 15 points down at half time, but never really gave us a sniff.

we were missing a few, but full credit to SPOC's, as much as that hurts to say, they played damn good footy.

My father heard the creek kid say he is back next week. -
Their were no major fights on saturday between S/West & raggies, But turbo watch out for these 2 snipers number 22 who is a mungral & ofcourse the standout number 2.
I think smosh have S/West this week & with both creek boys back & overweight number 22 throwing punches it should be interesting.

Number 22 pushed the raggies ruickman in the back & right in front of the raggies coaching box he gave a beautiful right arm punch to the ribs but unfortunitely the Umpire was out of position on his left side. You should have heard the Raggies cheer squad go off.....

Salisbury West werent great - I wasnt going to give away to much about the raggies during the week but they still have 4 of their top 6 players out & will be back in a week or 2.

If Raggies finish 2nd at the end of the year i hope S/West come in 3rd cause il tell you they are hoping to get another chance at them.

Im annoyed to see E/Park lost on the weekend.... I hope they make the 5.
Iggies dont deserve to be there.
