Sturt haven't beaten the Eagles for a couple of years, right? What's the Eagles' winning streak v Sturt in finals?

I remember when my mob had a 33% strike rate.... oh, those heady days!

Don't get too carried away. I feel pretty nervous about this one. 1998 was the only previous Adelaide v Sydney semi-final, also at the SCG, where Sydney went in warm favourites and Adelaide played sensational footy to knock 'em out (looked like the premiers they later became). Sydney has now lost its last 4 finals including a home SF loss as part of a straight-sets exit in 2015, and has a poor record in extremely close ones this year. (Including, surprisingly, 2 losses by less than a goal where they were beaten by more or less the last kick of the game, at the SCG.) If it was being played at Homebush I would tip Adelaide; it's only the fact that it's at the SCG that makes it lean to Sydney. But I don't think I'll be able to watch, if it's down to less than a kick in the final 3 minutes.Wolf Pack wrote:Sydney will win comfortably this week.

The AFL sides were always saying that things would even out during the second half of a season when they copped more injuries and couldn't field a strong side. They conveniently didn't mention what would happen when they had a full list and the SANFL sides had long injury lists.

Yes, they often tell us things like this current situation is rare, usually there will be injuries etc. whenever anyone of their parrots is asked the question about how strong the Ravens are right now. They are basically saying that their squad is in actual fact too strong now, and the only way they can be beaten is for injuries to occur.
Leaves us in the ridiculous position of wanting injuries to occur to players.
Back to topic, I have been hoping or otherwise, but I think Wedgie might be on the money with his gloomy prediction. The Ravens are now one step from a Grand Final. Even if the Crows get pantsed at the SCG they'll most likely come out firing and wanting a taste of Grand Final footy, and then a premiership. I am afraid that the only way for Sturt to win this weekend will be to beat a Ravens side playing with a total drive to win also.

They were one minor round win away from making the finals last year - what you said here viewtopic.php?p=2014003#p2014003 , may well have happened then, and West Adelaide fans will be thankful it didn't.
