It will be interesting to see how Gibbs plays in 2017, if he still wants to explore moving to Adelaide in 12 months time then by playing well for Carlton it pushes up his price and possibly makes it harder for him to get here....

Or just goes through the motions and his value to Carlton drops ;)

Speaking of Dynastys, is that the nickname Port should use to broaden their appeal in China?

Yeah that could work, nicknames are just that. The important thing is that it's still Port Adelaide ;)

Only 20 and still growing into his body, will be ok IMO

McGovern is where it's at.

Might be able to play both, swing McGovern down back like his brother has done

Carlton will be trading Gibbs to the Crows this time next year for a half eaten packet of chips and a warm bottle of coke.

Port Zhejiang just doesn't have the same ring to it.

If he was committed to the move to SA he would explore both clubs. I don't think it will impact his football at all next season and once the dust settles his missus will come around and he'll be a one club player

Pretty simple to understand to most people except those who want to see the negative in how the Crows did it.

I agree Gibbs was overs but I do laugh at the Crows lovers who do continue to believe how good and great they are because they are constantly finishing 5-13.

At the end of the day for a club of Adelaides size, it's support, its finances, it's 10 out and out home games a year etc to not play in a GF in 18 years is nothing short of an embarrassment and an out and out failure

Other clubs have had longer droughts, Central Districts for example.

You seem so worried about the Crows Dutchy but no talk of the Roos. Which team will finish higher on the ladder? Will the Roos make finals? Compare this season to how you think they will go next season after trading in a bloke who won't play next season, Marley Williams and Nathan Hrovat. Lost a lot over the past couple of weeks but have not gained much?

Power said they have enough mids, they need talls but if someone like Boak or Wines goes they will be into him

Free agents won't be interested in going to a side on the slide. The likes of St Kilda, Melbourne and perhaps the Suns if they get their house in order with the picks they have over the next 12 months will be the targets for free agents in the market.

Would have loved to have landed Gibbs but glad we didn’t hand over 2 first round picks or a good young player to do so.

Midfield depth is a worry but I don’t think we could have won the flag this year anyway, still think we are 12 months away.

An extra 18 games into Atkins, Milera, Cameron, Crouchs x2, McGovern, Knight, Lever, Hampton will hold us in better stead for a tilt at a flag + in 12 months time we can revisit Gibbs/Rockliff or another midfielder!

I think the AFC might be under the same impression or they would have given up the 2 first rounders for him IMO. Eg. Geelong think they are a serious chance so selling all their draft picks the last few years for older talent.

Wouldn’t be against picking Barlow up in the preseason draft as midfield cover.

That's now Hawthorn, St Kilda and North who think they are going to get Fyfe.

If Freo remain rubbish he'll head to whoever has the most upside on field. I know which two of the above are not in that bracket. ;)

It's an easy shot you've taken, Cracka but the point was not that they've not won premierships, but they've had the resources to do so and haven't achieved the ultimate.
