A month ago, my team Port, and South were on equal terms in this category. Now i think its fair to say South are on their own (in saying this, Port has still disappointed quite considerable this year, but has a chance to make amends somewhat before the end of the season).

south and port and to a lesser extent bays and north.

thought south would continue from last year, port be a genuine threat, north, while they are a threat just cant seem to take the bull by the horns and the bays should have been playing like this earlier.

Good call ,Jimmy i thought with the talent in their squads that both Port and North would be top 3, North may still get there but have had some disappointing slip ups.

Serious post this time:

A similar thread was begun earlier in the year. IIRC most punters picked Glenelg, and rightly so.

With the Bays latter form they have redeemed themselves a little. One could point at South and West for not doing better but someone has to finish bottom, and frankly I didn't see South making the finals again anyway. The only team not performing roughly at the level I expected is Sturt, and in this case they've exceeded the expectation. Therefore no club could be labelled as a disappointment ATM.

Wait until round 23 is complete, then one or two of the teams which miss the five may qualify as disappointments.

Geez Pseudo, I agree with your Sturt comment (I had them bottom three) but how could you not have expected South to at least make the five this year? They lost Davey and that's pretty much it... They are clearly the standout disappointment of 07...

They lost Cupido as well. How many goals did he kick for them last year?

i think this has been brought up before and pointed out that cupido had some big days out against weaker teams (ie. sturt) but that most of his performances were nothing better than average at best. every south supporter i know was glad to see him go.

Norwood. When we beat the Eagles I thought we were going somewhere and it turns out we were, to the same darn place we've inhabited for much of the past decade (as tinpotjarmanoutduckerdynasty has pointed out many times).

I mean come on people, South? They celebrate Elimination Finals wins like premierships and are too easily satisfied. Us Redlegs used to be used to winning.

regards,

REB
