At the risk of sounding un-Australian, how nice was it waking up this morning without it being stifling? Yesterday's humidity was shocking, our back verandah area only has one side not enclosed so breeze doesn't pass through.

I thought it was the edge of my screen and I'm no expert if the field.

Yeah, that was early this arvo, it looks full on now - my Aunty just said it feels like a cat 4 now and even though they haven't tipped it, could easily be a 5 by the time it hits - she said she's in for a very long night and was about to head under the house so probably won't hear from her again until it's over.

I just couldn't imagine listening to that massive wind gust all night. Scary.

Here's the radar image now

It appears I've lost contact with the rellies in Bowen now so hope they're okay...They'll be stuck in their bunker all day by the sounds - this is like the slowest moving cyclone ever

Townsville is going to largely escape any really damaging winds by the looks
