Here's the radar image now

It appears I've lost contact with the rellies in Bowen now so hope they're okay...They'll be stuck in their bunker all day by the sounds - this is like the slowest moving cyclone ever :?

Townsville is going to largely escape any really damaging winds by the looks

Lucky I didn't plan my trip for now, would've been the case if my paperwork was back earlier.

Springbrook, just off the Gold Coast got 486mm in the 24 hours to 5pm last night.

A place below Mackay got 1140mm in 48 hours from Tuesday to Thursday.

thats possible. they are somewhat independent events so one in sept doesnt mean there cant be one in december.

if you want to get technical, basically they work that out by how many standard deviations away from the mean a certain event is

Is pollen regarded as a weather condition?
Just wondering if this is the right thread... I have not had hay fever, like I had today, since about 1990 I reckon. Felt like a knife stabbing into space just to the left of my nose for most of the day, followed by a snot drips, or sneezing and a pulsating headache!!! Thank **** for the rain when it came.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
