At least 1 if not both Bayly brothers for M/Vale are in their best players each week. Wouldnt be a surprise if the umpires get confused which one is which. Not sure if this would help or hinder either of them in the votes tho?

Mckenzie is always in Happy Valleys top 3. Of course how the umpires see the match is always differnent so i guess its a bit of a lottery.

I agree with Todd Johnstone. I have seen him play a few times, he gets the hard ball, carries over lines and delivers cleanly. And I notice he gives a bit of chat to the umps so they know who he is.

Still Nathan Bayly for me ATM I think hes kicked about 50 goals for a small forward/Rover thats fairly eye catching im sure the umpires wouldn't get players mixed up their surely they're better then that The league are the minders that get them mixed up Mail Medal night. Johnstone is a good call to you could Pencil in 3 votes against us a few weeks ago my 2 tips.

interesting to see how prescott was used against the Emu's fly. Can you explain the tactics there? Putting your mail medalist down at full back...not very positive thinking was the talk from the sidelines...

Boys can anyone give me a run down on the abilities of the Reavill brothers from Cove?
Are they along with Vick Cove born and bread?

Obviously this was to cut out Polly. I wouldn'y imagine he would line up at full back against any other team? He ran in the midfield later in the match and found the ball. That's where it seems the team needs him, especially to beat Cove and Morphies.

Both Reavills played Juniors at Cove. They were both part of an u/16 premiership before they went to the Bays. Vick also had played at Cove before last season. Matt Reavill went down on his leg saturday may miss the next 3 weeks if not more.

G'day Dutchman Polly is a class act as is Steve I thought it was a good move to match them up came out pretty even on the day 4 is better than 10 for us but the question has to be how much did that take away from our midfield ball getting, the jury is out on it.

No question i think that this year the medal will be going to one of the small blokes. Johnstone from Brighton or Vick from Cove, maybe a Bayly from Morphett Vale to also get a few votes. Oh well, we'll all know in a few weeks anyway when the SFL release there top 6.

Definately true there dingo. The medal always goes to an onballer and this year all of the premier onballers are little fellas. johnstone, vick and the bayly bros for mine too. put them on each other shoulders and they mite just be six foot between them. they can all certainly play tho.

Looking back through the SFL history books, does anyone know the last player to win a mail medal that wasnt an onballer/winger? When was the last CHB/CHF/FF/FB to win if ever. I know the onballers are the backbone of any side but there must have been one in the last 20 odd years.
I guess its the same as the brownlow. you have to go back to 87 when plugger won one from full forward.

There was a player from Port Noarlunga in the 90s who was a ruckman/ chf who won one - cant remember his name (it will come to me) but he is the only "non" onballer type that I can remember.

There has been some winners in the last 10 years that I dont rate too highly though may be its the ability to play well against easier teams that gives you the votes that some players wouldnt get in a tougher competetion week in week out.

I looked it up for you footy nut. was it K.Allan? never saw him play. Was he more of a ruck or CHF. Also Clint Howes won a b grade medal last year from full forward. Also from Porties. still pretty rare for a non onballer to win. Just thinking out loud.
