Club booked a bus to take the players on a pub crawl yesterday..

Bus turned up, driver said nope not driving intoxicated people around and left.

Bus was paid for in full last week when booked (and advised it was for a footy club pub crawl), and the company is now refusing to refund the money.

I need to know.. can they do that?

What crap.. really what were they expecting when someone rings up and requests a bus for a pub crawl for a bunch of footy players a day after a Grand Final?

What they think everyone would be sampling water all day!

I know of a craft brewery and a pub who won't accept buses of people on crawls, from experience.

WH&S mate. If I owned a bus company, I would not want my driver subjected to a pissed footy trip group either.

Surely if they have a condition that they don't carry drunk people (and fair enough as MW says) it would've come up when the bus was booked and the money paid last week? It's more than reasonable to infer that the words 'footy club pub crawl' indicate that some level of intoxication is going to occur during the course of them providing their service.

Who is the bus company in question?

The T&C state

No food or beverages to be consumed ON coaches or buses at any time. All vehicles are strictly non-smoking by law.

Non-compliance with a Drivers request for passengers to refrain from drinking alcohol, and the smoking of tobacco or consumption of illegal narcotics, may result in summary termination of the journey, cancellation of any other parts of a booking.. etc. etc..

Now, there was no alcohol present or in possession, no one was smoking, no one had breached T&C well they hadn't even got on the bus lol.

They said the bus driver made a judgement call and said being intoxicated at 12pm was unacceptable.

So on the basis of those T and Cs you cannot get pissed whilst travelling on the bus, but that's it. Presumably there's some soiling fee or summary termination for that too.

I mean, isn't this consistent with what those bus services typically provide, which is to ferry people around places like wineries so they can get drunk? Again, they knew what you wanted the bus for and didn't tell you it wasn't cool. You should at least be refunded.

Also Bedge, even though there was no grog on them at the time, were your lads 'pissed' when bus rocked up?

Seeing they lost the GF on Saturday I'm going to guess the boys might have been a little frayed at the edges upon the arrival of the bus.

If that's the case the driver, I think, is well within his rights to knock them back but having said that, give some sort of refund in return.

Only one player actually went and met the bus haha.. Club didn't open Sunday morning, so instead the boys met at one of the players houses around the corner.

The captain who booked the bus went and met the driver - he wasn't too bad, thought he seemed quite ok.

My concern is how can you make a judgement call about what might happen? The driver could've driven the players to the first pub, dropped them off and then decided it wasn't going to work and left - would have more reason then.. but to not even allow anyone to board the bus is stupid.

I'm not the most IT savvy so I need some advice on something:

Our downstairs TV picks up wifi and we watch youtube straight from it.

Our upstairs one needs to have a laptop plugged into and I need to run the laptop off of hotspot on my phone.

On the weekend the kids bought a new GTA PS game which they have been playing online and since then my laptop drops out after only a few minutes, would them playing the game have anything to do with it? I've only used about 60% of my data through my phone and about 45% through the broadband with 3 days left for the month.
