Big Crowds This Coming Weekend (Rd 21 2007)

Postby Wedgie » Tue Aug 21, 2007 8:27 pm

Have a look at the games on this week, 3 absolute rippers.
North v Glenelg has a huge influence on final 5 and double chance and throw into the equation North will be dusting off the candy stripes and also having a big 87 reunion the night before.
Central v Sturt will be great and should get a huge crowd, be interesting to see how Sturt handle the bigger oval but had a good practise last week.
Port v Norwood is always great but whoever loses is out of finals contention and whoever wins is still a chance.
Most sides near full strength.
Finals just around the corner.
Great upcoming weather.
Pump it up SANFL!!!

Round 21
Saturday 25th August

North v Glenelg @ Prospect
West v Eagles @ Richmond
Port v Norwood @ Alberton
Central v Sturt @ Elizabeth
South bye

And look at the lead up weather and the weather on the day of the games:
Thursday Fine. Sunny. Min 7 Max 21
Friday Fine. Mostly sunny. Min 9 Max 21
Saturday Fine. Mostly sunny. Min 10 Max 22

If your a North supporter you had better bring your umbrella as the Adam's Family cloud of doom and gloom is making it's way from Noarlunga to Prospct for the next 3 weeks (temporarily borrowed) whilst another wasted seaosn gets washed down the drain with the overflow from the Southern end toilets!

Forgot to add again what's already mentioned, this weekend we see a couple of teams vying for the coveted award of "The Firs Team to have beaten everyone else in the league this year".
North have the first opportunity to get this award.

Well, wasn't I miles off in my prediction, here's the crowds:

Prospect 2609
Richmond 1620
Albeton 2725
Elizabeth 3931

Total - 10,885

Considering how perfect the weather was and the way the games shaped up before the match its a pathetic turnout.

Christ, I was wearing shorts yesterday.
No wonder the SANFL concentrates on its AFL teams, for the competition to only get that much considering all factors it shows that perhaps we're flogging a dead horse.

The Prospect game wasn't helped by the fact that there were only 250 Bays supporters there.

Dont blame them, admittance should have been halved as only one football team rocked up to play the league game.

Which makes our loss even worse - a good turn out of North supporters and having to sit through that crap.
