Yeah, I make the gap on both 2nd / 3rd to be (currently) around 27 - 28 goals.

If my side were in the same position and playing form footy, I don't think I'd be happy with anything less all out percentage busting efforts (and results to match) against the bottom two sides this fortnight. I reckon you'll see just that. Eagles to win both games with little (if any) change left from 100 points each.

Sorry West (and South) fans - no disrespect intended.

i just want to win - need to keep momentum going - need to get the 2 points.
BUT
dont under-estimate Westies as players will be trying to impress so as to be noticed for 2008.

i hate over confidence - do i believe the eagles will win - yes of course - by how much - i dont care as long as we win!

I think Westies will be quite a competitive unit on Saturday.

The game against Norwood we were obviously flat but that is understandable after fighting so hard over the last month and playing some pretty good football and to finally get a win must have been a huge emotional experience.

Remember we are very young, and last time we played the Eagles we were totally embarrassed and was probably our low point o f the season and we have continued to improve from that game.

Dont get me wrong I think Eagles are very much the favourites going into this game, but I doubt we will be an easy push over and we will be looking for a bit of redemption from both last week and last time these two teams met.

West have shown several times this year that they (should, could, perhaps) have the goods to mix it with the best. They've taken games right up to Sturt, North and beaten the Eagles this year, just off the top of my head. I reckon they are a team just waiting to happen. However, the Eagles are playing such great footy right now and looking every inch a premiership threat positioning itself for September, surely they couldn't drop this?

No you would think that the Eagles should be too professional to drop this one.

Everything says that they have too much experience and too many key position players, but if they underestimate us we could well embarrass them.

I think there is too much pride down at Richmond of late to just lie down and get belted by 100+ again though.

Agree bosvit - wont be a belting in my opinion - the eagles need to turn up to play. I expect a win but also expect a pretty tough game.

1. I can't wait for the hybrids to get their own bloody web site

2. You blokes can't be serious ??? Just win  - if we don't SMASH both West & South in the next 2 weeks, something is DRASTICALLY WRONG with the player's mindset - they can't help but notice the fight for a double chance.

I for one will be MOST UPSET if we do not win both games by 10 goals +, we have EVERYTHING to play for.

from Ron Fuller's weekly email to members

"We now confront a rejuvenated West Adelaide who have introduced several young players who have that bit of excitement about them. They have surprised a few teams with their efforts of late and we have to prepare for their challenge and try to replicate the football we played in the third quarter for longer periods of the game."

If we play 4 hard, tough Eagles football, we should win by about 100 points.

Good to see Salter back so quickly. Hopefully he is 100% otherwise no point in risking him. Also hopefully Hier isn't too bad as he is a very important player. Would expect Symmons will be left out to rest his ankle and Redden back to the reserves.

Apart from losing Zac Hier this team is looking better and better each week.......Good pressure coming from the boys below is puting enormous pressure on the league team to perform or else risk losing your spot.....great for the club and best time of year for it to come! I doubt that Symmons will play and getting Nick Salter back is a huge headache for the opposition as if they didn't have enough already to contend with.

Agreed Mickyj. Coaching staff need to make a decision on Schwarze as I feel they prefer Passa at FF. I don't think you can have both in the forward line as evidenced against North. Schwarze came over as a defender and CHB has been a problem this year. Frees up Mc Kenzie and if Passa is down on form, then give Schwarze a go. Need to settle it before the finals.

Also if Salter is fit he is more agile than Schwarze, passador and macgregor and should lead the west backmen a merry dance.
