We are, yes, but we're not paying him $450k to play SANFL anymore.
Instead you’re paying him $200k to play for another AFL club.

Hartlett had a pretty good year last year, his first in defence.Lightning McQueen wrote:Booney wrote:hawks21 wrote:Hartlett and Boak would be coming to the end of no doubt front ended deals, Lobbe off the books and Watts has half his wage paid by Melbourne. They also had a million dollars freed up with Monfries and Ryder not being paid due to the drug saga for a season, hence the reason they could afford to bring in Rockliff, Watts, Motlop etc on decent coin last year. They would have had a squeeze back in 2015/16 but now i think they would be in a similar position to most top end clubs.
Harlett's deal coming to an end? Not yet mate, he's locked away until 2021.
As the article notes, Impey, Trengove and Lobbe were all on decent coin, Young only had a one year deal for 2017 after a solid 2016 so his would have been above average.
Yeah, Hartlett signed for 26 years and then immediately became a dud.

Expect him to improve again and be a more than solid campaigner.

He has a ton of ability, they extended that contract on the back of a poor season which was baffling, I like the guy, I think he has a lot to offer.

Said it before, I'll say it again, players and player managers have too much power over the clubs.

Polec the only one of concern and his was suffered in a collision, not just in motion, Wingard, Motlop, Marshall and Thomas all very minor and more management than "pings".
