I recall winning at Unley a few years ago with a free kick count in the vicinity of 31-8 against us!

 Please Spelly. Can you confirm this?

When you state Unley, is that oxford tce Unley and when you state a few years ago, is that in the last 30 years?

Round 15 2002, the Advertiser credited Sturt with 31 frees and Central with 9.

And smac has it spot on, players make mistakes, the same as umpires do. That's why you should not put down losses to umpiring decisions.

Disappointing last quarter by the Dogs.

Chambers got 7 sitting on 95 for the year now.

Hopefully Central do not schedule a night match against a Crows match next year, I'm stating the obvious, but that could have been 8,000 at Adelaide on a Friday night instead of 3,931.

And Chambers could very well get the 100 next week!

Sturt play Glenelg and North in the last 2 rounds

If Sturt lose to Glenelg next week and North beat West - North and Sturt are playing off for the double chance in the last round if my maths is right?

Lots of 'ifs' there and not that I am too hopeful of North beating Sturt but what a potentially cracker game to finish the season!

That is if we win next week. Potential for a 10,000 crowd if Chambers is on 99 coming into the last round, and it's on a Friday night.

What a stupid decision to put this game against a Crows game IMO, and the Bingo excuse the club used for not moving it to Friday night would have the be one of the most pathetic excuses I've ever heard. If this game was schedules smartly, it would have been 8000-9000. I wonder how much money the club's lost in lost catering etc becuase of this blunder.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Well played centrals
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Stupid? I doubt there would have been more if it was an afternoon match. This was the last game at HHO for the year, and since we have to avoid mid winter because of the cold we are limited to early and late season for night games. The club made the right decision and got 500-1000 more people than they might have on a Saturday arvo.

Thanks spelly!

A really enjoyable game of footy, I think the dogs are starting to crank things up in anticipation of the finals. Not too much didn't go as planned I reckon.

As for the crowd and timing of the match - been done to death hasn't it? I agree with you Graham, spot on assessment. Bingo on Friday nights brings in more each year than any one footy match the dogs could play - you ever see an upset Northern suburbs granny? Imagine a few hundred of them...

also I dont think Centrals (or many at all) would have predicted this game to be the blockbuster (1 v 2) at the beginning of the year
