Favourite players from rival sides

Postby Lightning McQueen » Mon Mar 19, 2018 2:38 pm

Simple really, which players do you admire the most despite them playing for rival teams?

I've always been a Dusty fan so I was rapt for him to win the Brownlow and Norm Smith, I love the way Nathan Fyfe goes about his business on and off the field.

Dayne Zorko is one of my favourite footy stories, sheer determination.

Sloane, Martin, Roughead, Betts (gives me the sh*ts when he cleans us up, but seems like a ripping fella) & Fyfe.

Seems to be a common theme.
Roughead for me. A footballers footballer.
I liked Deledio (sp) when he was busting out of packs and bouncing the ball towards goal. I remember he had a pre-game warm up doing just that and launched them outside 50 each time.
If I have to choose one from Port (god this hurts)...I like the way Wines goes about it.

Scott Pendlebury. Seems to have so much time.
Dustin Martin. Explosive.
Nat Fyfe. I think this bloke is still the best when fit. Amazing player.

Fair analogies, I like the Pendles one as it's amazing how players can make time stand still, Darren Jarman was a great exponent, as was Buckley.

Burgoyne good choice. Amazing how he has kept going. Uses the ball beautifully.
