by the sounds of that, he is gone...you dont fill someones position if they are still there.

Even if he didnt leave and played, it would be only because he had to, and if thats hhis attitude then he wont be much value around the club.

Don't be fooled by Dale Ellis's physical appearance and long kicking at training. Ya gotta get the ball first and he didn't take this subject at kindergarten. A lamb in wolf's clothing. A first class hypochondriac hence he only played 9 out of 26 league games in '05.

Unfortunately I think tuckey has left the building, in a few games last year was superb against good opposition i.e ,7.4 against North at Prospect where he carved up several opponents. I have to agree that holding him to play this year when his "heart" is elsewhere is pointless,thats the situation South definitely do not need. As for his alleged replacement Pedlar........ I'm afraid my opinion of him is that he is gifted. Gifted at giving away free kicks and that is when he is not injured.

no, not at all, he is playing in qld i think with southport, or that is the latest ive heard anyway...

Brent Tuckey was recruited to the North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Cup U/18 competition in Victoria from Stawell. From the Rebels he was drafted to the AFL and I assume you all know his path to South Adelaide.

One of Tuckey's good mates has been appointed assistant coach at Stawell this season and Tuckey has indicated a desire to play for his home club to help out a mate. He has asked Stawell officials to look into his contract with South Adelaide to see if the club has breached their requirements. They apparently included finding him a job in the same field he was in before moving to SA as part of the deal but failed to secure him that type of job. He is not in Queensland or intending to play for Southport but is in Melbourne and looking at a return home. He will only play for South if compelled to by contractual obligation, a contract he feels South breached. His heart would clearly not be in it if forced to play.
His family believe he has had enough of the demands and pressures of elite level state league football and would be happier dropping back a level or two. They feel he would actually stand out of football rather than return to South.

Source: Brother in law lives in Stawell and the family is friends with the Tuckey family. I asked about Brent today because my club, Ararat, was concerned to hear that an ex-AFL player had played in apractice match for Stawell recently.

Former AFL footballer features for Warriors

Former Collingwood and West Coast bigman Brent Tuckey returned home to don the red and black of the Stawell Mitre 10 Warriors, in the team's lightning premiership clash with Maryborough on Friday night.
The club hopes to have Tuckey, who would be a massive coup for the young Warriors, signed inside the next two to three weeks.

"We hope to get a clearance from South Adelaide in the near future," coach Dale Power said.

"He is very keen to play."

Tuckey, who has also had offers from clubs in other leagues to play this season, enjoyed a strong role throught last Friday night's clash with Maryborough, playing the first three terms on the wing before moving into the ruck for the final quarter.

"He got better and better, he and Ben Martin combined well," Power said.

"He took some telling marks. His big presence was obvious with his voice and the size he carries.

Tuckey, who played junior football with the Warriors before furthering his talent elsewhere, played 19 games for Collingwood after being drafted from North Ballarat as an 18 year-old in 1998.

He also has experience as a West Coast Eagle, where he played a further three matches.

Apart from many other accomplishments, Tuckey was also named in the VFL Team of the Year after playing in the victorious Victorian team against WAFL.

Despite suffering defeat, coach Dale Power was pleased with aspects of his team's performance, in what was his first competitive stint as the club's leader.

"The signs were pretty good, the skill level was pleasing," he said.

"There were good signs with a lot of young blokes."

Power named youngsters such as Jack Duke, Bryce Homden, Josh Rathgeber, Brenton Potter and Matt Giles, saying they all faired well in what was a strong taste of senior football.

New recruits Andrew and Luke Abraham and John Tuthill also showed good signs according to Power.

Another trip to Maryborough for a meeting with Ballarat-based Sebastopol beckons for the Warriors tonight.

Power said the team was looking forward to the match, in what should see an entirely different Warriors make-up, signalling up to 10 changes for the match.

He also revealed that Dean Jenkinson, who had been a candidate for the Warriors senior coaching role this season, would be travelling to play for the Warriors tonight.

Power said Jenkinson is a prospective player for the Warriors.

"He's been around the traps and is another valuable asset for us like Brent."

- The Warriors will be holding a Commonwealth Games training session next Thursday night, with both football and netball training combined.

He'll be released and be released easy if South don't want something getting out which I'm sure they don't.

Surely if the SANFL want to seriously pursue their investigations he would be obliged to tell all anyway? He bit the hands that fed him, ungrateful prick......

If this club offered employment as part of the contract and failed to provide said employment then I don't see why Tuckey should be held to any deal negotiated by a Panther management team unable to uphold their part of the arrangement.
Whether he gets released to Stawell or not I think you can safely assume he won't be seen on the field for the Panthers again.

If you are referring to Tuckey's employment at South and I presume you are:I think you may find that the deal was to find his partner employment. My mail is that she was presented with 4 jobs by the club,none of which she deemed to be suitable. This saw her depart the scene and has led to Tuckey doing the same.

I presume whats being referred to is that fact that Tuckey who was the beneficiary of a healthy salary at South, was telling certain stories about the way South operated their player payments system.
