Thought I'd throw my two cents in about two game I managed to catch over the weekend.
Hectorville Reserves vs. Smithfield Reserves - Was a really good game to watch! Both teams have some good talent in their squads! Surprised to see Nisbet playing in the reserves. Sam Shaw & Brandon Thompson are good additions to the team, coming from Central United but now both back at home @ Smithfield. Alex Smith @ Hectorville has great potiental! Score was close all game, until Smithfield found a nice burst of energy in the heat! Tired legs showed in the last quarter for both teams. Hectorville almost game back with a few easy goals, but just wasn't meant to be. Good win by Smithfield.
Hectorville vs. Smithfield A Grade. The result of this game really came down to poor skills & accuracy. Smithfield managed to score 1.8 in the first quarter alone, but it didn't stop there. Most of the game panned out that way. Not to take anything away from either team. They both had great squads including Daniel Marston @ Smithfield and Luke Broadbent @ Hectorville! Both teams could look dangerous as the year progresses, if they manage to scrub up on their skills and ball errors. Good outing! Good footy to watch.
First time @ Hectorville oval for me, but I have to say wow, it's an impressive oval! Look forward to going back their in the future.

The Bedge wrote:Word on the street is Blues coach Will James wants to keep some tricks up his sleeve as he already looks towards finals, and will rest a few tomorrow against CBC so they don't see all his cards.
Expect recruit Kurt Lindner and back flanker Tom Mattner to rest, and potentially Daniel Polec and Jayden Fischer to be late omissions. Also if Pulteney get off to a solid start, don't be surprised if Langford is put on ice before the end of the half.

After coming up a division and emphatically dismantling their div 6 rivals can will james and his crew make a statement against flag fancies and last year's finalists cbc. A wet and windy day is forecast and the small Morgan oval should make a fascinating match between the college teams. Pulteney with some new recruits on show will be coming in confident and hot whilst cbc ran over Kenilworth after a slow start. Pivotal midfield battle between the likes of Tucker and Johansen. Will cbc have an advantage of an on field coach? Time will tell and a huge advantage who ever wins with a 2-0 start.

we are very alert to what valleys can bring..we struggled to pull away in the first round last year and in the second game were 7 goals down at 3/4 time and stole it..wet conditions tomorrow..no chance of us being complacent i would like to think..
