My son was and still is a Kangaroos fan, took him about 7 years ago to a kangs/crows game and came out and found the door had been kicked in, we had a kangs membership sticker and a small kangaroo that sat on the dash my boys side. We were late back to the car as the roos would take him into the changerooms every game in Adelaide so he could get photos. Kangs won and we figured it had to be an angry crows fan. Have never had any sort of sticker on my car since then and just put them on the fridge with a magnet. Safer on the fridge...New car now and looks like we don't support anything. Just have to wear the clothing..

Last year I had my tail gate kicked in when I went to see the Bays v Norwood. I did'nt have any Glenelg stickers on the car. Sorry to hear about your car, I know how you feel. Probably was'nt footy related tho, as if it was after the game, there would have been a lot of people around who could have witnessed the vandalism. Chances are who ever did it took the opportunity while no one was around.

Quite a few stories on here that make me feel pretty sad.
I heard a few years ago that scratching cars was "an Adelaide thing". I never lived anywhere else in Oz except Adelaide, so I am interested in what those that live interstate have to say about that. I have lived in Japan for almost 7 years, and have never heard of car scratching in this part of the world.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Car scratching definately goes on over here even in rural Scotland but I have no idea if it is sport related. I would think not...more likely just kids in desperate need of a good bloody hiding as other very popular pastimes include stoning cars and buses as they drive past and undoing the wheel nuts on cars in driveways and carparks. Every now and again the police will have a crackdown and arrest a gang of about a dozen or so but they are always under 16 so almost no punishment.

I can remeber back in the '70's, the old man had a brand new XB falcon, we were visiting Pt Pirie, when we came out of the supermarket the car had been scratched the whole way around.

The onlt incident I can recall at the footy was at Woodville oval a few years ago, got back to the car after the game to find it had been spat all over, Particulary where the North stickers were.

Yeah, but that's just because we are sort of related. It's been tempting though... I nearly snuck out last Christmas to do some damage...

That wasn't vandals or rival footy fans. That was just the lead in the atmosphere...

There is always one black sheep in the family :D . Speaking of which I forgot I do have a scratch on one car, caused by a family member's bike, suitably chastised and pocket money withheld afterwards though.
