JJ I know you idolise me but you have to call me an IDIOT as well
BOOFs captaincy last year was diabolical
He should be the captain without doubt next season but his efforts last
year was a big factor in the sides below par performances

If only he was 4-5 years younger, perhaps
I would honestly say that the hierachy would be having thoughts about
recruiting mature aged injury prone players.
The SORREL policy must be to recruit younger cricketers in view of some
ordinary recruiting in recent years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would shop around for a skipper interstate or overseas in the 25-28 year old bracket.

Nathan Adcock was on 5AA the other night talking on behalf of the team preparing for their training camp at Jamestown

Are they lifting his profile for a reason maybe?

I'd rather see Adcock captain than Manou.

My tip is that Bails will be named captain today. If not, he will be VC and captain Australia in the future.

www.abc.net.au/news wrote:Batsman Nathan Adcock is the new South Australian cricket captain.

Adcock replaces former Australian Test and one-day all-rounder, Darren Lehmann, who stepped down as Redbacks captain earlier this year.

The 29-year-old Adcock scored 324 runs for the Redbacks last season.

"Ever since I was a small boy playing cricket, playing state cricket was always a dream," he said.

"To captain your state is something that I've certainly always really would have loved to do, and to be given this opportunity is really a fantastic privilege."

I would have given the captaincy to Borgas, and hope that he flourished in the role in a similar manner to White from Victoria. I hope Adcock does well but whats going to happen if his form flounders and he cant justify his place in the side? At least if it was Borgas it could be argued he was too young and inexperienced, and that it was a bold move, but with Adcock, i'm not quite sure they can say that.

I was going to post exactly the same GWW

I just hope Nathans improvement last year does not affect his form being the skipper.

Will be very interesting to see how the Redbacks go this year. A lot of pressure on Adcock. Still, there would be pressure on any captain if he doesn't have the runs on the board to defend. If SA can score 350+ in the first innings more often than not hopefully Adcock will have enough nous to guide the side to victory.

Even though it was widely tipped since Boof was sacked, South Australia has now become the Laughing stock of Australian Cricket with the appointment of Adcock as captain. For 10 years, what more does a bloke have to do to prove that hes not up to 1st class level with his batting let alone handling the captaincy.
Some will say that last year he was reasonable with the bat, FFS, give me 10 years in the system and i'd fluke a good season with the bat. What happens 1/2 way through the season when they are bottom with 1 win (Yes, Boof is still there and Good enough to win a game off his own bat) and Adcocks averaging 20 with a top score of 46??? Geez the other states will be licking their lips when they play us.
What have SACA done for the Last 5 months about looking for a suitable captain???
S.F.A. By the Look of it.
I'LL Reluctantly fork out my $280 for Adelaide oval membership again only Bcos the POWER Have lined my pockets last week but rest assured, i'm not happy with the so-called High Performance mob at saca and whoever else involved in recruiting HACKS like Flower and Elliott and appointing duds like Adcock as captain.

Congratulations to Adcock.
A fantastic choice made on the assumption that he will have a good year with the willow.
Tremendous amount of pressure and I'll back him to rise to the challenge.
