How so? They were looking the goods even after Paddy went down, losing two more after that crippled them and they still had a pulse, Robbie Gray should've put them two shots through and it would've been curtains.
I'm not sure they are mentally screwed, they do need to play to their strengths and develop a more apt game plan.
Great win by the Eagles though, after the focus on Adolf Gaff during the week and no Kennedy, Imagine if there was room up[ forward for McGovern full time, what a set of mittens.

For mine:
Rockliff 5/10
Watts 6/10
Motlop 6/10(would have been 5 except for his winning goal against the crows).

Pass marks for two of the three,
Rockliff 6.5/10 - slow start after shoulder recon and knee soreness late in the preseason, really only got going after the bye,10 games in a row 20 touches or more, haven't seen enough on the score board from him. He's the one I expect the most from next year with a proper preseason.
Motlop 6/10 - Don't think he's worked out our game plan, gets lost a bit when we move the ball slowly ( who doesn't! ) but has had some good games (5 games with 20 touches + a goal ) but knew what we were getting and it delivered in the Showdown early in the year. Capable of the dynamic just needs more of the ball.
Watts 4.5/10 - averaging 14 touches, 4 marks, 1 goal per game. Just like Melbourne would have wanted, make that 20, 6 and 2 goals and you play every week. Deserved to be dropped, went back and did what he had too. Lucky to be there at the moment, only Marshall's absence keeping him in.

Even though he didn’t have a preseason I think Rockliff has been the most disappointing.
Watts was never going to improve coming to Port and Motlop is always inconsistent but Rockliff is a very good player which he has shown in patches but certainly not enough to get a pass mark from me.
Be interested to see your ratings on the whole team?

Watch the replay, Dixon was 20-30 clear out the back on his own, Wingard does some sort of up and under helicopter whilst fixing his hair.
