The shields stuff is great, we just know your jelous. heard Kerr'y is retiring? and probably Fluff, with no juniors coming thru it might be worth jumping ship to Mals Monsters!
What was the pitch like at centenary today, how many land mines did Wf roll under it this week.
The DR football rumour needs to be left alone! Not for here!

All of our juniors are baseballers Mav, not cricketers. In 3 years, when there is no one from your kids team of this year left (they'll all be playing cricket or footy on the city) and all of ours are still running around in A and B grade smashing u each week, we'll revisit that statement. Enjoyed another B grade success did we. Just for the record too Mav Shields have now gone the longest without winning an A grade flag. Funny that. You just keep rolling those B grade flags out though, nothing like hanging the who cares cup up in the clubhouse hey.
RM A grade SES 130 odd to Charlton 40 odd (yes 40 odd its not a typo)
B grade Charlton 167 beat souths 120 odd

Geelong are a joke, they wont even beat Freo in Melbourne , they will miss the 8.

Don't you feel like a goose this morning. Let's not get carried away, it's only the pre season cup but you've identified yourself as someone who knows nothing about football, must be a coincidence that you're associated with bostons.
Haloman - as if i'm going to back the cats in a grand final!!!!! Not saying we wont win, but I'm not very confident!

Its so hard to take isn't it bystander the team that has already made the GF barracking for someone else, have you ever wondered why? By all reports the bickering amopngst your lads that didnt get a game on Saturday was worse. Maybe they should learn how to drink!

Like I have said all along, It doesnt matter who we play... this flag was won 3 moths ago when we got our team together. We have been waiting a long time for this, let the Party Begin!

At the races the other day I noticed how good looking the girl jockeys were- one had N. Stone on her short things and was a glamour, couple of other werent bad either. She won a race too I think.
What about some of the good sorts out parading around with the fantasy tan and dresses on, AHHH ... Smytzers daughter scrubbed up allright, she could leave her shoes under my bed anytime!!
When is the next meeting? Are there anymore? I have been following a trainer called Simon Drewitt, I have follewed Drewitts before and they went alright but I havent won bugger all this year? Also follow Cozamanis a bit he wouldnt bring them all the way from Adelaide every meeting if he didint think they could win hey?
WHat were your thoughts on the Carnival ESKI or OL?

Chickaloo is over rated, will it run in the Kimba Cup?
Those apprentice jockeys ride well in PL they just dont get enough chances, when they go to Ceduna and Lock they ride winners to prove they have abiltiy they just need a go here.... Ross should have put his apprentice on the Cup winner I thought! Although I dont agree with his training methods.
He should win the Cup every year with the breeding of horses he's got If Gai Waterhouse had his team she would have won all sorts of group races and over $1 m in prizemoney.
The trainer I follow is Noel Riedy, I havent had a bet for a while tho.

What's so hard about it, i can understand perfectly why they don't wanna play us. We bat to no. 10 & have upto 8 of the 11 who can bowl quite well. Those boys on the side line are still serving their apprenticeship, but i'm sure they'll be fully qualified before long!!!

rm, I thought the cup meeting this year was a little disappointing due to the qualiy of horses going around...maybe there is too much racing at this time of the year and the racing club should consider an alternative date for the cup...the axeman backed up my previous posts regarding his talent with an exceptional ride on go august and he also gave odyseus every chance. your right about drewy though - he has taken a fall from grace this year but all good trainers do at some stage of their career and it usually makes them better for it.

dickiehead if you think chickaloo is overrated the u dont know much about racing...suggest you leave the racing posts for people that do...maybe u could write a post about how good your shitty little clubrooms will be at ravendale and how the hell u are going to pay for it.

disturbing to hear that the jockeys were all on the piss at the tasman the night before though, ie. maund, axeman and others - does anyone know anymore about this?? Rossco your a regular there aren't you?

I've heard a little whisper that the PLCA are investigating the qualification of some of Charltons B graders that played on Saturday. Is everything in order there Bystander???

Commiserations to Charlton. I must admit I was a critic early and waited for the wheels to fall off however they kept chalking up wins and deservedly finished in the top two. They did enough when bowling to win the game but fortunately for us their batting fell to pieces. They've found some future talent this year and I'm sure 06/07 can't come quick enough for them, add Yancic for the whole year and top two will be on offer again I'd say.....

Have to agree with you OL, the standard of racing was down but the day must of been a success for the PLRC. I must thank them for leaving myself and a few others in a free tent with plenty of grog to about 7.30.
Thought the axeman rode great races in all but one race, which in his own words he butchered the horse, couldn't get in from wide draw.
Thanks to the ladies for looking so good at the track.
Dickiebird/Head, did you catch Chickaloo yesterday?
Drewitt stables have struggled a bit this year, but three positives out of cup week. Sunny Diva ran good 3rd in 2yo race, follow as Perficio & Devlino will not start next meeting. Rodeto ran good race and should be followed as stated by WCP. And Shancity in the CUP was great run, moved into the race nicely before check at 150m mark then hit the line again, should have been in placings at huge odds. The removal of the roofing nail may have had something to do with its improvement.
BTB you started sharing some goss with me at Tasman till rudely interupted, please finish story. Private email maybe required.
Roosco, my wife wreckons you can sing, have since put her in Glenside.

Just heard your "little whisper" myself there WCP.
Just for those who are sooooo concerned about our availability of certain players, check the constitution, Rule 11. (c) "When both senior teams of a club compete in finals on the same day, all players who have played 3 minor round games minimum for the season, are eligible for either team.
Those selected in the B.Grade team shall retain their B.Grade eligiblity should the A.Grade be defeated".
Therefore everyone who played for us on Saturday IS eligible to play in the GF. I have checked this TWICE with the PLCA.I hope this clears up any misconceptions that anyone may have. Thankyou for your concern & good luck to all playing in the GF's.

Well I cant beleive I am here, Port Lincoln Library on the internet and I can tell you I have got some different sorts around me.... Thought I'd have a look on here after being told about the racing talk and the lead up to the GF in cricket.
Fields were very dissapointing over the carnival, but think crowd numbers were OK. The entertainment after the last race took too long... at least 2 hours wait, most people left. More stayed around after the twilight meeting... I thought! The various food stalls that were advertised was Trevor Bennie cooking sausages! But I cant complain , I had a ball.
Rossco and BTB singing was the highlight of the carnival, It will be advertised next year that they will perform before the BC Boys.
Axon is progressing well as a hoop, had a great carnival (barring the lady force ride) and will win the leading apprentice here this season and is not all that far off the overall jockeys premiership. Credit must also go to good trainer J Gow-Whyte who gives these apprentice jockeys the best rides. Jeff Maund and a few jockey mates where a disgrace on the Tuesday Night, I think they think they are 6" and 100 kg... I mean seriously!!!! Axon was not a part of this trouble.
The cricket GF this week looks to be a beauty, Tasmans have more depth and a better team on paper and should win but we all know things can happen on this great day. Key is who wins the toss and can post 150 on that deck. SES finals experience could be valuable.
Odds : Tasmans $1.60 v SES $2.10 Good luck to everyone.
