Following their loss to the Sydney Kings today, the Adelaide 36ers and Adris De Leon have agreed to part ways effective immediate.

The 34-year-old import will return to his native Dominican Republic, where he will have the option to play out a longer term contract in the local national league.

The point guard’s departure leaves an import spot open, with the 36ers expected to make an announcement mid-week.

Supposedly he was told yesterday and still decided to play today anyway pretty professional of him.

Huge signing supposedly the only reason he wasn't back in the NBL after last season was because he priced himself out of the league.

COMPREHENSIVELY beaten today by Sydney in front of a stunned and quiet crowd at Titanium Security Arena, Adelaide later confirmed it was import Adris DeLeon's farewell NBL game, Demitrius Conger expected to be his imminent replacement.

It is extremely rare for a club to cut a player without a replacement either already signed, if not en route.

DeLeon, 34 and a 180cm point guard, knew pre-game it would be his last and worked hard to finish with 11 points and a game-high six assists as the 36ers went down 81-93 to the Kings.

Conger, 28 and a 198cm three-man, played NBL last season with Illawarra Hawks, finishing second behind Perth's Bryce Cotton in league MVP voting but joining him in the All Star Five (First Team).

He averaged 19.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game for Illawarra and was one of the most sought free agents in the off-season.

But he went instead to France, joining Le Mans where he has averaged 8.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in five Champions League outings, playing 20 minutes.

Sobey, DJ and Drimic? Would have thought Sobey and DJ get pass marks at this stage of the season. Drimic needs to provide more.

Still lacking depth off the bench, Deng has not progressed as many would have hoped. Moore's injury hurt but we should be able to cover 1 guy going down.

Hopefully Conga adds some spark and we get back to playing our best. Need some W's ASAP.

Great news and exposure for the NBL signing a broadcast deal with FloSports to provide live and on-demand coverage of the NBL exclusively into the US & Canada and non-exclusively into the UK & Asia.

Also good to hear the second of two Team USA vs Boomers games to be played at Marvel Stadium in August next year as warm up games going into the World Cup is now officially sold out with only limited tickets left to the first game.

More than 90,000 tickets have already been sold.

Sixers have the ingredients to be a very good side, just can’t put it together consistently.

Harry Froling you wish we had last year. He has some serious prick about him and the size he has backs it up physically.
