Had always remained a hope that at some stage a white knight would save and restore it, but have given up on that now. It’s just another thing SA lags behind other states in.

Easy enough to see, he didn't do a great job.

Cheltenham, Victoria Park both should be still here. Racing in this state is a joke. I still remember in the late 90's when we had a few trotters. We could go to Nyah in country Vic on a Tuesday afternoon and get more money there than a feature race on a Saturday night at Globe Derby. No wonder all the good trainers go east. Unfortunately, racing in this state will continue to decline.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can see the problem.
Imagine how good Friday nights at Victoria Park would be ala Mooney Valley
SA has to get away from this nanny state that the Labor Govt created to keep themselves in power by making us all dependent upon them for handouts.
The $3m hasn't killed the industry. Its time for TRSA to come up with a sustainable business plan to resurrect racing in the state. Then, go to the government and ask them to back it.

It would have been a good venue, as you were closer to the action than at Morphettville.
However none of the 3 racing codes would never agree with eachother on anything that would be beneficial.
Its not unfathomable to see 2026 roll around with no Racing industry at all, all 3 codes included.

GRSA let Strath go, as the Trots own that land.OnSong wrote:mighty_tiger_79 wrote:At one stage there was some discussion that Cheltenham would have all 3 codes.

They are pouring cash into Murray Bridge and Gawler.
MB even has a new greyhound track. But they’ve shut Strath. Not sure what the hell is going on.

In terms of hospitality, I've found the greyhounds really, really good.
Only been to Angle Park and Gawler but they've been fantastic nights.
As for gallops, Strath was top notch on Vigneron's Cup day, would consider going back for their Cup day which is coming up Feb 3.
Haven't been to Morphettville, Gawler or Murray Bridge but keen to get to the latter two in the next year.
