Spelly..... only 3-5 years ago mate. I really struggle to watch it. Just thinking that we pour money into 'this' but yet sacrifice shield and test cricket kills me. I really do wonder if Sri Lanka are in the same position we are. Their test side is terrible.

BTW, if they are serious about the T20, make it "school holidays" so that kids can watch it. I think most cricket tragics (like me) live through our kids. If they're not interested, I'm certainly not!

You'll note, my mates are coming around. I've bagged the comp from the outset. Its farcial. Third rate players, junk bowling, junk batting.....but the solution, throw money at it!

We should note that when the fielders are on the boundary after the powerplay, Batters bunt balls into the field for 2's. It's exactly the same as ODI's. But yet Cricket Australia will sell their souls on the basis that T20 is the silver bullet (which it clearly isn't). I could go on, but I won't. Simply because I can't be bothered.

Funny enough, in a perverse sort of way, I've watched more of it this year than probably any other year, only because it's just on in the background. Probably in the manner of the proverbial car crash - can't take eyes off it. Back in earlier seasons, at least there were a whole host of recently retired international players; they've all but vanished now, save for Watson. Even the current international pros can't stick around, except for the Afghanistan players who don't have much international duties. Now, it seems, a third of the players are grade cricketers, and all the commentators can say is "great opportunity for x"...then they get pasted to all parts of the ground when they bowl, or make a scratchy 6 off 10 batting.

I've listened with a smirk when everyone connected with the comp tries to not stray out of the company line, when questioned about how the lack of Shield cricket doesn't help the Test team...you know they know.

But hey, you know this, we all know this. I just want in on a hate fest of what the BBL stands for. ;)

The Strikers remind me of an under 12 team where everyone has to have a fair go, no shit, why wouldn't you open or at least elevate Rashid? He'll either get out for SFA, or knock up 20-40 in no time.

He wont waste balls and I'd rather him bat than not each game. Horse has bolted now anyway.

Shows what a Mickey Mouse comp this is when broadcasters change the final to a Day game so it doesn’t interfere with MKR

Obviously would cost the script writers from MKR too much to change the dialouge ;)

So if Strikers lose on Saturday night to Scorchers, we will finish bottom. Gone from top to bottom in one season with same list. Has a Redbacks feel to it!!
