When a coach starts demanding where a player is placed, when it looks apparent to most casual observers they are better suited elsewhere, and play better footy in another position, it seems pretty clear for mine...The poor bloke probably gets confused trying to work out the instructions in between that bloody gum chewing and tutting - it'd be like having a combination of Skippy and a cow as your coach...

FWIW, Willits seems to be trying pretty hard under difficult conditions at West.

Yeah i'm not sure what the big deal is, Glenelg dont rate him, so why should they care if his career is "ruined". To them, they haven't missed out on anything, so why carry on about it anymore?

Oh Contraire, GWW, Glenelg people did rate him (don't EVER think we didn't) as a key position backman and and as a person....it seems our rating of him as a forward has been justified....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Hes not doing a lot at CHB for West now either, i think hes played better footy this year in the forward line than what he has in the backline. Lets face it, hes just an AFL fringe player probably likely to be listed, Glenelg supporters just trying to be smart about things. Best way might be to not select Power players in the mini draft anymore.

Not with us he didn't....back line gun forward line hack

Only one glearing issue I can see with us at Port Power players is we played Boak one game too long in the 2s. All of sudden Glenelg are the root cause of all Port Powers development problems???

IF an AFL lsited player can not be our best forward at the start of the year when he clearly wasn't in trial games behind Duldig ( v Centrals and North) why should we pick him as our key forward??? Gee if you couldn't be our best forward at the start of teh year you had serious problems.

As you said earlier AFL fringe listed player, not a fault of the SANFL player allocation system

If he doesn't make it at AFL level it will be nobody's fault but his own. A coach doesn't ruin a career, a player does this by either not working hard enough or just not being good enough.

FWIW I think Ryan is a top bloke he is always willing to say G'Day to my kids and do the photo and autograph thing.

He hung around back at the club Sat for longer than I did which was about an hour after presentations finished, so he does seem to be trying to do the club thing.

But his on field performance did deteriorate as the season progressed and you could see he was not a happy camper, why I am not sure but I hope he gets his head together and his confidence back for next year.

You would have to think he is pretty likely to get delisted and this pressure/thought may well have had a lot to do with his performance.

For mine he is not strong enough over head to makeup for his clumsiness/stiffness below his knees.

I wonder if he has back troubles because he always looks stiff to me when he has to bend down low.

Ryan can only blame himself, the move to West was inconsequential as he hasnt performed on the field no matter what jumper he is wearing, in a lot of ways it would have been easier to shine at Westies than the Bays, anyone blaming anyone else has little idea IMO
